Nancy Pelosi was asked an interesting question about abortion on Thursday, and her answer was, well, fascinating.
The Weekly Standard’s John McCormack tripped up Democrat Congresswoman Nanci Pelosi last week with a question about her 2012 claim that Obamacare would “lower everyone’s rates.” And it looks like he got her on Thursday with a question regarding condemned murderer Kermit Gosnell and Rep. Pelosi’s disapprovel of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, a bill that would prohibit abortions during the final four months of pregnancy (with exceptions for when he life of the mother is at risk).
McCormack asked the California Congresswoman how she reconciles her professed disgust for Gosnell with her condemnation of a bill that would prohibit abortionists from terminating the life of a child moments before birth.
“What is the moral difference between what the doctor did to a baby born alive at 23 weeks and aborting her moments before birth?”
…and here’s the Congresswoman’s “answer”…
“You are probably enjoying that question a lot. I can see you savoring it. But let me just tell you this: What was done in Philadelphia was reprehensible and everybody condemned it. For them to decide to disrespect a judgment a woman makes about her reproductive health is reprehensible.”
“What’s the moral difference between 26 weeks elective abortion and killing of that same infant born alive? This is the issue…” McCormack fired back at Pelosi.
“This is not the issue,” She shot back. “They are saying that there’s no abortion — make it a federal law there be no abortion in our count riff. You are taking the extreme case. You are taking the extreme case, and what I’m saying to you is what happened in Philadelphia was reprehensible, and I — not going to have the conversation with you, because you obviously have an agenda. You are not interested in having an answer, but I respond to do you to the extent I’m going to respond to you, but I want to tell you something, as a mother of five children, my oldest child is 6 years old the day by brought my fifth child home from the hospital as a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me when we talk about this. I don’t think it should have anything to do with politics.”
Watch the exchange below…
“She’s insane,” Stu said after hearing the audio.
“No place in politics, when why are you discussing it at all?” Glenn added.
“Her church has the opposite stance as she does and yet it’s sacred ground to her as a practicing Catholic. What?” Pat continued.
“If it’s inside in the body, it’s abortion. If it’s outside the body, it’s reprehensible and murder. What is the moral difference there?” Glenn asked after hearing Pelosi’s so-called “stance” on the matter.
Of course, Pelosi never clarified and never will…
The only moral difference is self-imposed blindness.
…if Pelosi’s stance on Gosnell and abortion isn’t bizarre enough, wait until you what else she was up to this week.
Trust us…you HAVE to see this:
Yes, that is a video of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius singing and dancing to the Supremes “Stop in the Name of Love.”
