Is Pat’s son already a better man?

Get Glenn Live! On TheBlaze TV

On radio this morning, Glenn, Pat and Stu all reflected on the challenges that face dads and what how they struggle to teach their kids. Pat talked about how his son was getting made fun of for being home schooled by some of his teammates. Pat was pretty pissed off and was about to tell his son to hurl insults back, but his son decided to turn the other cheek and not stoop to their level. Dad’s always want their kids to “be a better man than I am”, but is Pat in trouble that his son is already there at 15?

Is he a better man than John Wayne? “I won’t be lied to, I won’t be insulted and I won’t be laid a hand on. I don’t do these things to others and I expect the same in return.”

Because of the teaching of a strong father he too, his son, will be even stronger … and will need to be in the face of the times he lives in.

Can Pat’s son do an impression of Yoda, hmm?

Then he is not yet worthy.

(Joking aside, good for the kid. Quite rare to find a teenager who will hold back the need for revenge.)

At 18, my son was far and away more mature than his father, who at 55 still has yet to grow up.

Hey Pat been there myself be very proud, you and your wife have obviously done one hell of a job with your son !

By Pat’s son not responding to the insults, his son is practicing what it takes to be a parent when their child is throwing a tantrum; ignore them and do not engage!

He’s not striving to be like John Wayne.  He’s striving to be like Jesus.

At some point Pat’s son might have to throw a punch back. Sadly, that’s the way it is…
