Senator David Barton? Glenn certainly thinks it has a nice ring to it

Could David Barton be the next Senator from Texas? According to a story on TheBlaze, possibly. Glenn has been vocal about his support of a potential run by Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-TX) to unseat incumbent Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), but so far Rep. Gohmert has been reluctant. Now it appears as though Glenn could have another favorite in the race.

“There’s a story that’s breaking out on TheBlaze. Who would have seen this coming,” Glenn asked on radio this morning. “We told you about Louie Gohmert. We told you about Louie Gohmert possibly running for the Senate. Here’s the thing. He’s going to run for Speaker of the House because that’s what he’s going to do. I feel it. I’m just saying that’s what gonna happen.  He’s going to run for Speaker of the House.”

“He doesn’t know that yet,” Pat quipped. “Then who for the Senate seat? Who do you have in mind?”

“Senator David Barton,” Glenn responded.

According to TheBlaze:

Tea Party activists are reportedly urging Christian historian David Barton to primary against Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas). The move comes as some Texas Republicans question Cornyn’s devotion to conservative values.

Rick Green, a close adviser to Barton and a speaker for the historian’s WallBuilder‘s organization, told National Review Online (NRO) that more than 1,000 Tea Party and conservative leaders have asked Barton to run.

“Senator David Barton,” Pat said. “It’s got a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? Is he open to it?”

TheBlaze has yet to receive a comment from David Barton on his intentions, but Glenn is certainly excited about the possibility of a Senate run from his good friend.

“If you’re John Cornyn right now, you’re afraid,” Pat said.

“Quiver in your boots and hide, John,” Glenn concluded.

    John Cornyn took a huge hit on Facebook after Ted Cruz’s filibuster. He received hundreds of comments and none of them were positive. You are darn right about John being scared. He has been coming on strong in TV adds touting himself as the “Second Most Conservative Senator” – wonder who the most conservative is, but I digress. Yesterday I received a three page letter from him with stickers and magnets clinging to the “Keep Texas Red” campaign.
    He has been in DC so long he has failed to represent me. I always get a computer generated letter from him in response to whatever my concern is. Ted Cruz has awakened us to what a real representative is supposed to do and now we won’t settle for anything less.

    I highly respect David Barton and I would hate to send him into a pit of vipers but if he would consider running I would man phone banks and walk door to door for him.
    Senator David Barton does have a nice ring to it!!!

    David Barton is WITHOUT PEER in conviction & knowledge of our Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc. & our country’s exceptionalism, & a FORCE that, like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Allen West, Mr. Scott (SC-?) would NEVER succumb to the RINO McCain, Graham, Murkowski, Flake, Alexander,Corker, Ayotte, Blunt & Collins..ALL whom are supportive of the Progressive Socialistic agenda (21) that’s destroying our FREEDOMS for our current & future generations..WE NEED TO STAND FAST IN SUPPORT..otherwise the PROGRESSIVES will succeed & the time to RECOVER will be immense..I’d appreciate that NOT happening..I’m an 83 yrs. young Korean War the ‘TIME’ situation could be a short one for me…but NOT for my grand & great grand kids..

      I hear you. I come from a military family and would hate to think that they fought for a shameful country, and some have given their lives. I am a proud American and we need to join together and clean house. We have got to get out and vote and change in 2014. I pray that there will be some running for office that are worthy. God help us!!!

    I can tell you know that I will not vote for john cornyn ever again. But, yooo I do like David Barton and would vote for him or Mr. Gohmert, like him, too. Cornyn, McCain, Graham and Aayote needs to go. I will vote for Senator Cruz as well.
