Scandal in the making? NYC’s progressive mayor Bill de Blasio’s new pet project reeks of corruption

It has been less than week since New York City’s self-proclaimed progressive mayor Bill de Blasio took office, and his Administration is already making headlines for the wrong reasons.

Get Glenn Live! On TheBlaze TV

In the days leading up to his inauguration, Mayor de Blasio proclaimed that his first priority as mayor would be to ban the iconic horse-drawn carriage rides in Central Park. While the Mayor and his team claimed they were only concerned with the safety of the horses, it appears other, more politically motivated reasoning, may have played a role.

“One of the most amazing stories. This is how fast the corruption has started,” Glenn said on radio this morning. “Bill de Blasio, he is the new mayor of NYC, in his inauguration speech he came out and said, ‘I am getting rid of all the horses.’ Okay? Now listen to this.”

An article in The American Spectator reports Mayor de Blasio’s promise could backfire, as the newly elected mayor’s critics suggest the policy is a “corruption scandal masquerading as an animal-rights crusade.”

According to The American Spectator:

Defenders of the carriage industry point to a real-estate executive who is one of de Blasio’s major campaign donors as the driving force behind the effort to abolish the carriages.

“It’s got everything a scandal could ever want,” says Eva Hughes, vice-president of the Horse and Carriage Association of New York City.

[…]

The bad guy in this drama, according to the carriage drivers, is Steve Nislick, chief executive officer of a New Jersey-based real-estate development company, Edison Properties. The company “employs legions of lobbyists to influence city decisions on real estate and zoning in its favor,” journalist Michael Gross reported in 2009, pointing out that two of Edison’s businesses “have multiple locations in the same Far West Midtown neighborhood as the stables where the Central Park horses are housed.” An anti-carriage pamphlet Nislick circulated in 2008 made this interesting observation: “Currently, the stables consist of 64,000 square feet of valuable real estate on lots that could accomodate up to 150,000 square feet of development. These lots could be sold for new development.”

“Oh, he’s all about the little guy – all about equality,” Pat joked. “So he’s barely taken office, and we have the first corruption scandal already for Bill de Blasio. Good… I was buying into: Okay, he’s an animal rights guy too. It fit into the other nonsense that he spews. But hey, corruption fits in too.”

As Stu explained, the rhetoric Mayor de Blasio has been spewing as packaged as some sort of new-age idea when, in reality, it is a variation of the same old tired proposals leftists have been using for years.

“I was listening to reports this morning. All he’s talking about is taxing rich people. It’s amazing,” Stu said. “Here’s a guy who comes into office blathering the same crap the left has been saying for the last 50 years and acting as if it’s this exciting new proposal. He just wants to take more money and give it to these giant programs that are going to make citizens dependent on them. It’s the same pitch we’ve been hearing for… a century.”

Perhaps New York City should change it’s name to “New Pork City”.

What in the hell is wrong with horse drawn carriages? I think leftists forget the role that horses played before automobiles came about. They were the lifeline of industry and communication. Now it’s cruel to trot them around leisurely. What a world we live in now.

I thought liberal progressive democrats were all about subsidizing old dying industries that can no longer be viable on their own.

Horses have been mankind’s main source of transportation for all of recorded history except for the past 100 years. Is he going to close the Bronz, Central Park, Prospect Park, Queens and Staten Island zoos? The NYC Aquarium? No more circuses in the city! Isn’t it cruel to lock up dogs all day in high rise apartment buildings? What about the leather jackets? Will liberalism stop if left unchecked?

  • CareQ

Great – besides being corrupt – his first priority is to put horses out of a job. Who will pay to feed and house these horses if they can’t work? Horses need to make a living too.

  • Thumper

Why be surprised when a leftist can do and say things like getting rid of the horses. Where is PETA when they are needed. If a conservative had pronounced a similar agenda, they would have crucified him in a second. Again, the media is showing their bias to the left. And if the American people don’t react with action, complacency
    will be our downfall.

Another corrupt democrat politician, who knew? So much for unions taking care of its members since the Carriages are driven by Teamsters. DeBlasio selling out union members for fun and profit for a corrupt crony.

Umm, PETA is right in there advocating for the extinction of carriage horses. Believe me, NO ONE needs PETA. Unless they want to be snuffed out. PETA excels at death and misanthropy. http://www.petakillsanimals.com

The NYC carriage horses bring in an estimated $15 million to the city – I know that’s a drop in the bucket in the scheme of things, but those horses not only support their owners and drivers, but also stable hands, vets, farriers, hay and grain suppliers, carriage builders, tack suppliers, and all the other folks that support this industry, and the families who depend on them. That’s a lot of people out of work and the ripple effect will be enormous. All because a real estate developer wants the land the carriage stables occupy. He couldn’t get them fair and square, so he bought a politician. I know it’s a story as old as the hills, but there ya go.

Isn’t Fascism Wunderbar? Welcome to the new Democratic National Socialist Workers Party.

  • pony

PETA supports elimination of the carriage horses because they believe that any animal exploitation (work) is evil, and not in the best interest of the animal. They conveniently forget that the income these horses bring in is used to buy them food, shelter, veterinary care and retirement board. Blue Star Equiculture in MA is an organization that takes retired NYC carriage horses. More and more animal lovers are beginning to hate PETA, and would much rather support organizations that actively help animals.

Sorry but I support PETA in many ways – they do a good job in finding cruelty and abuse among those who get a kick out of hurting animals. Personally I would never take a horse drawn carriage through anywhere.

You are all missing the connection between horses, oats and the greenhouse gas methane.

What a laugh! PETA kills THOUSANDS of animals every year at their Virginia headquarters. They were convicted of picking up healthy puppies and kittens from veterinarian’s offices, supposedly to find them homes, and then KILLING them in the van immediately after picking them up and then dumping the bodies in various dumpsters around the city. But since you are naive enough to believe a horse drawing a carriage constitutes “cruelty” you probably are naive where PETA is involved, too.

    FYI, the New York

  • Evelyn Kubrick

The New York carriage horses are the most strictly regulated in the entire U.S. The horses are guaranteed a minimum five-week vacation at their own sanctuary. Only 3 horses have been killed in traffic accidents in 30 years. New York is actually one of the safest places for a horse to be. Yet Peta floods social media with photos of dead horses from other countries in an effort to fool New Yorkers. Rather than continue to improve the business (adding a horse lane during certain times of the day so the horses can get from Central Park to the stables easily), he’s going for an all-out ban.
When he was public advocate, de Blasio thought the horses were okay. But then the real estate guy showed up and de Blasio drank the Kool-Aide. Don’t count out the Teamsters. De Blasio and company think this is a done deal. I think not.

  • Ron Grabner

No, I can’t say that is on his agenda, but if those horses are banned you can bet the animal rights activists will be doing their very best to do just that!!! The already want the carriage horses banned, then any type of events involving horses, dogs, circuses or zoo’s. Who knows though, if Steve Nislick wanted that land, maybe Bill de Blasio could work out some type of “special” deal on that also.

It wouldn’t be right to try and convince you to take a horse drawn carriage ride. It’s also not right for mayors or for PETA to do everything they can to prevent others from enjoying it.

Over the past five years, I have not only visited every aspect of the
NYC carriages & horses, I have been throughout the stables from the
    ground floors to the rooftop…
I have also visited some of their horses who were away on furlough / vacation in either upstate NY or Pa.
I have viewed the hackline, and have seen the activists taunting the carriage drivers and their fares.
I have written numerous Notes / articles pertaining to, and taken over some 600+ photos to date.
I have never backed down, nor away from the activists.
For they have not the knowledge nor the insight that I have acquired of these
“Iconic Horses” within NYC, and of their teamsters… and the families to which they provide for.
    To
lose such Tradition, Heritage & History for the sake of mis-truth’s
being fostered, would be surely the Crime of the Century…
    New York City…
This is Your heritage, of over 150 years.
These “working horses” are Living History in your city…
Your children, your families have a right to continue to enjoy their presence.
They are the last of the many wonderful working horses which actually built your city.
    Please think about that…

The horses are well cared for. They are well fed, well housed in fire proof stables with large stalls, well cared for, get an examination by a vet at least twice a year, work no more than nine hours in a day, if its too cold they are given blankets, if its too hot they are not worked, they even have raincoats, the horses get five week vacations grazing in pastures, the work they do keeps them physically fit, and they are retired when too old and cared for. Their care is overseen by five different agencies. If De Blasio is successful in banning the horse carriage trade, the 200 horses will be slaughtered.,

Yeah, and what will New York get in return? More jobless, some embarrassing dead horses in the city’s name, even more embarrassing nationwide press and op-ed pieces, and city residents that finally come to realize that the mayor himself was the only beneficiary of Nislick’s cash. Tax revenues from developing the stable properties can’t possibly begin to compensate for all the lost political capital and public humiliation for a city. Even the income from the properties will go to New Jersey, right?

Bert, these horses suffer from respiratory illness, they are over worked because the ASPCA does not have enough people. The drivers use them as a means to make a living – they are worked to death, then they “disappear” to slaughter and a new one is purchased. Many of these horses are old and on their last legs, having been purchased from the Amish, etc. The drivers work them in temps that are illegal in the summer and winter, they house them in retrofitted tenement buildings where they can’t lay down to rest. Horses do not belong in traffic with buses and cars – these horses cannot even touch a blade of grass in Central Park, because it is a protected site. It is very sad. Their care us sup par, as it is cheaper to dispose of the horse and get another one. Please check out the Coalition to Ban Horse Drawn carriages and learn the truth I am a Republican and a life long New Yorker, and I tell you, this industry must stop These horses are in a living hell.

  • Deborah M. Damascus

Sounds to me like you have a vested interest. The drivers and owners on a daily basis flout the law – illegal u turns, having the horses out in the bitter cold and harsh sun – they know darn well there are not enough ASPCA people to charge them. You make it sound like heaven but just last week. a driver who has REPEATED OFFENSES was arrested for working a horse for 4 days that had thrush – I saw a driver throw feed on the filthy city street – oil, trash all over – these horses have NO CHOICE and NO VOICE. I am not a nut either – they get the minimum care as they are just a way for these drivers and owners to make a living. Horses do not belong on NYC streets.

  • Deborah M. Damascus

Great way to deflect the very good reasons to end this inhumane industry by bringing up Nislick. Equinne Advocates rescued a NYC carriage horse that was ILLEGALLY sent to New Holland, PA to be slaughtered – they’d tried to shave off his number on his hoof. He name is Bobby II Freedom. Google it and watch the video of this horse’s journey to freedom and to living as a horse should, ON GRASS. Go to YOUTUBE and type in NYC Carriage Horses and see the abuses – people all over the city are using their IPhones to document the abuses – google The Coalition To Ban Horse Drawn Carriages – they are totally volunteer and were the first to bring attention to the plight of these poor animals. The carriage horse people monitor these sites and post as well and they have a vested interest in the continuation of this inhumane industry.

  • Deborah M. Damascus

Carriage Horses are being banned all over Canada and Europe – google The Coalition to Ban Horse Drawn Carriages and you will find the truth. Horses do not belong in traffic -

  • Deborah M. Damascus

Wow an unbiased opinion from someone writing from The Barn Rules…a horse owners blog – want to talk about soring in horse shows? Want to talk abut drugs and breeding used in race horsing where their legs are so fine they are dying on the track. SHAME on the equinne community that so sorely uses God’s creatures for their own enjoyment at the expense of these beautiful animals. How pathetic that you can’t police your own people. Horses are bought and sold like commodities – this industry must end and it has nothing to do with DiBlasio – he’s just the first mayor to care. I am a republican, and I support him fully on this issue.

  • landofaahs

Horses belong behind a plow in a field. I agree. But bicycles impede traffic in the cities also so they need to be taken off the road also.

  • Deborah M. Damascus

That still does not take away from the fact that these horses are in a living hell. I too, thought their lives were good ones. I was raised in NY – and always assumed they were well taken care of if for no other reason then they were an investment – but sadly, they live in retro fitted tenement buildings on the west side where many cannot stretch out and lay down to rest because as you know, space in NYC is at a premium. There is a film entitled “Blinders” I urge you to watch it. These horses receive sub par vet care, farrier care – google “Blondie” – a driver was just arrested last week for working a horse that was suffering from Thrush – which results from filthy conditions. They stop and go with the lights, carrying huge weights in the humidity, the hot sun, the freezing cold. There are laws governing when and where and how they can be used but daily the laws are ignored because the drivers know there are not enough ASPCA people to protect the horses. Go on Youtube and put in NYC carriage horses and you will see tons of videos made by New Yorkers who witness abuse on a daily basis. The carriage trade would lie to make this about Nislick, but truly The Coalition to Ban Horse Drawn Carriages is the group who is truly volunteer and all for the good of the animal. Google them and you will see.

Instead of agreeing with diblasio’s lies why don’t you do something to change the way the horses are living. You seem to have a large opinion but you don’t seem to have what it takes to make a change. Everyone has an opinion but rarely do they do anything to change the situation that they are complaining about. I dare you to do something. The Amish here is Lancaster have their horses in traffic and it isn’t a problem. You go with your argument and the Amish will have no transportation. Change the industry in your state. Don’t allow Diblasio to lie and use you to get more money in his pocket and the developers. Stop blogging, get off your butt and help the horses and the owners. You never know you could help and change a whole industry.

There is only an agenda on CBHDC, There is precious little truth, if any at all. Just sayin’.

  • appyrdr

Are you telling us that De Blasio/Nislick, et al, have no vested interest in banning the horses? Frankly, it’s a corrupt little bed they are in together.

Just out of curiosity, why is Billy/Bobby the only horse EA can point to as an auction rescue? If so many NYC carriage horses go through the auctions why are they letting the others go without rescue? How is Billy a fluke if so many are available, because the auction doesn’t care who buys them. I should think they would have several to exploit by this time. How is sending a horse, any privately owned horse, to an auction illegal?

I’ve been to You Tube and Google and I’m not seeing much in the way of abuse. I have, however seen a lot that certain factions define, or misinterpret as abuse, that there is nothing wrong with. For factual information I suggest http://www.equiculture.org/ for information on working horses in general and carriage horses in particular as CBHDC is rife with both mis- and disinformation.

  • appyrdr

WOW! You really are drinking the kool aid there. Clearly, you have not been in the stables. The buildings are not retrofit tenements, but were originally built as stables. Retrofits came with larger box stalls for the horses to move and lay comfortably, fans, misters, fire sprinklers, automatic waterers, etc.

“carrying huge weights in the humidity, the hot sun, the freezing cold” Full harness weighs about 50 lbs at the most, substantially less than carrying, say, an adult on their back. The carriages are easy to pull for the same reason we put our children in strollers and wagons, rather than carry them. Horses are adapted to, and handle temperature differences very well.

“a horse that was suffering from Thrush – which results from filthy conditions.” Poor sanitary conditions can be one cause of thrush, and left to progress, it can cause some problems. Some horses are just prone to it, others not so much. It can occur in all kinds of conditions and occasions, but rarely causes anything close to lameness and certainly not permanent lameness or death.

“the drivers know there are not enough ASPCA people to protect the horses” The ASPCA might be more responsive if they could rely on the calls being from knowledgeable complainants, but they so often respond to a call about, say, a damaged hoof and get there to find a perfectly healthy hoof that is misinterpreted by the uninformed as damaged.

” these horses suffer from respiratory illness,” Do you have documentation to support this claim? I didn’t think so. But by all means, if you find any beyond “because CBHDC says so” do let us know.

” Many of these horses are old and on their last legs, having been purchased from the Amish,” Work for a horse on an Amish farm is anything but easy, it is hard heavy pulling, often requiring teams of 4 or 6 to get the job done. As with athletes, young strong horses are better suited to the work. Horses purchased from the Amish are usually between the ages of about 8 to 12 year old, hardly on their last legs. They may not be suited to the heavy work on the farm but the easy gig of pulling a carriage on city streets is well within their capability for many years to come.

“Their care us sup par, as it is cheaper to dispose of the horse and get another one. Good, calm, level headed, horses suited to working in the city are not cheap and not easily replaced. If you have any proof otherwise, I would like to see it. And again, “because CBHDC says so” is not a valid argument.

“There is a film entitled “Blinders” I urge you to watch it.” Blinders is a “documentary” that is so full of disinformation as to be beyond useless and well into the realm of dangerous propaganda.

Lastly, I don’t care if you’re a republican, democrat, or independent, black, white, or pink with purple polka dots. Quit drinking the kool aid, get an equine education, gain some critical thinking skills and use them.

  • Jim Moriarty

There will be no “equine community,” Deborah if we ban carriages and racing….rodeos, carriage driving for competition, jumping horses- that will all be next. If there were to be a violation, I’m sure you animal rights terrorists are out there with your cameras and cell phones that ASPCA on speed dial. So where are all the citations?? BTW, one bad actor should not cause the condemnation of an entire industry. If that were the case, we’d be back in the stone age.

Deborah, you are merely repeating the animal rights lies and distortions. Virtually all the complaints about the stables are either outdated (They have been renovated) or absolutely false! Blinders was heavily edited – and a gross distortion of the truth. Thrush is NOT a “horrible” disease-it is the horse equivalent to Athlete’s foot. Horses defecate and then walk through it. It is a fact of life, That can cause the infection even in horses on pasture!. Thrush, however, is easily treated and definitely NOT condition that would normally make a horse lame! There is NO reason to stop working a horse just because it has a little thrush! It is actually laughable, some of the things your friends point to, screaming abuse! A horse standing still in harness, one hind leg “cocked” with its head down and eyes half closed is dozing! Not exhausted, depressed, lame or abused, as I have frequently seen charged. A terrified, stressed out horse would not take a nap in public! Learn something about true horse nature before making wild accusations!

Um-documentation of respiratory illness? I have never seen one with nasal discharge or even heard one cough. This is not a scene from Black Beauty, sorry. Your “facts” are totally bogus! They get 5 WEEKS if green grass on their breaks, their care and well being is heavily regulated. A horse “on its last legs” would not be able to pull the carriage-sorry-not real.

If we can save just one horse, it’s worth it.

Now I’m thinking dog sleds with inline skate wheels.

  • appyrdr

This is not about Walking or Racing horses. But if it were, why would you expect the carriage industry to police another, any other, equine discipline? Just in case you hadn’t noticed, horses are privately owned property, yes commodities.

Nothing to do with DeB, are you serious? If it has nothing to do with DeB, perhaps he should pull his overly large nose out of other peoples’ business. Oh that’s right, he needed the money the AR movement waived in his campaign face. He is bought and paid for by the AR faction and now they are demanding the return they paid for. The upshot is that NYC is very much for sale, has been bought, and now expects the return for their money.

This isn’t about horse racing, shift back to the actual issue here.

… “Scandal in the making? NYC’s progressive mayor Bill de Blasio” …

A Mayoral Hopeful Now, de Blasio Was Once a Young Leftist By JAVIER C. HERNÁNDEZ Published: September 22, 2013

    As posted at: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/23/nyregion/a-mayoral-hopeful-now-de-blasio-was-once-a-young-leftist.html?pagewanted=all&_r=1&

… Bill de Blasio, then 26, went to Nicaragua to help distribute food and medicine in the middle of a war between left and right. But he returned with something else entirely: a vision of the possibilities of an unfettered leftist government …

Profile: Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega 6 November 2011 Last updated at 21:35 ET As posted at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-15544315

To his supporters he is a heroic revolutionary who overthrew a brutal dictator and has since dedicated his life to improving conditions in one of the region’s poorest countries.

To his critics – including many former allies – he is a corrupt and authoritarian ruler who has turned his back on his revolutionary ideals and come to resemble the dictator he deposed …

… In 1967 Mr Ortega was imprisoned for robbing a bank to raise funds for the revolution …

… In 1979, following a bitter armed struggle in which 50,000 people were killed, President Somoza fled into exile and the Sandinistas took power, inheriting a country in ruins. Mr Ortega became a member of the five person Junta of National Reconciliation, and in 1984 was elected president …

… With his olive green guerrilla fatigues and passionate anti-US rhetoric, Mr Ortega became the new hero of left-wing groups around the world …

… In presidential elections in 1989, to the surprise of many observers, Mr Ortega was defeated by liberal opposition candidate Violeta Chamorro.

He accepted the result, but said the Sandinistas would continue to “rule from below” through its control of the army and mass organisations such as trade unions. Further presidential election defeats in 1995 and 2001, combined with allegations of corruption …

… In 1998 his step-daughter Zoilamerica accused him of repeatedly raping her as a child …

… in 2006 he made a dramatic comeback to win the presidency again …

… The man who returned to power was much changed from the revolutionary of 16 years before. In a campaign masterminded by his wife Rosario Murillo – a poet he met while in prison – the black and red Sandinista flags were largely replaced by pink campaign posters. The military fatigues were exchanged for white shirt-sleeves and the Marxist slogans swapped for a vague commitment to “Christianity, Socialism and solidarity” …

… massive loans and cheap oil from a new ally – Venezuela’s left-wing President Hugo Chavez – have more than compensated for this, boosting economic growth. In 2009 Nicaragua’s Supreme Court and Supreme Electoral Council removed constitutional obstacles to him standing for another term in office – a move the opposition condemned as illegal. Critics accuse Mr Ortega of running Nicaragua as a personal fiefdom, and of using Venezuelan money as a slush fund to buy support …

In an interview with New York Magazine, Weatherman terrorist Bill Ayers comments favorably on Democratic Party mayoral nominee Bill de Blasio’s history of support for the Marxist FSLN terrorists who attacked a synagogue and burned Indians alive in a church …

Here’s some of what Bill de Blasio and his voters can be proud of.

The Sandinista army committed myriad atrocities against the Indian population, killing and imprisoning approximately 15,000 innocent people.

According to the Nicaraguan Commission of Jurists, the Sandinistas carried out over 8,000 political executions within three years of the revolution. The number of “anti-revolutionary” Nicaraguans who had “disappeared” in Sanadinista hands or had died “trying to escape” were numbered in the thousands. By 1983, the number of political prisoners in the Sandinistas’ ruthless tyranny were estimated at 20,000. Torture was institutionalized …

… “the city’s public advocate, has spoken only occasionally about his time as a fresh-faced idealist who opposed foreign wars, missile defense systems and apartheid in the late 1980s and early 1990s. References to his early activism have been omitted from his campaign Web site” …

… “Fruit” never falls far from the tree …

Kimberly, this is a common claim of the AR movement. However, they have yet to produce any, and I do mean ANY, qualified documentation to back up the claim. Probably because there isn’t any.

  • Meathead

Horses are “working animals”. They love to “work”. meaning pulling a load The horses are well cared for and suffer no abuse. This liberal mayor could care less about animals, he is just taking care of real estate business.
New York voters are idiots to vote for this POS after putting up with Bloomturd for years.

  • TomJoad

They’re definitely saying that. And have been for a long while

  • Vicky Berry

REally? were there tailpipes spewing exhaust in the good ole days that they had to breathe in nose to tailpipe for 9 hours between two shafts where they can’t even turn properly? Hmmm NOT were there drunks gathering the reins and making illegal uturns in city traffic? NOT were there stables onthe third floor of a factory? NO these horses live or should I say exist in horrid unnatural conditions. They are the result of money makers with no care for the animal that makes their income. They end up 90% of the time in an auction used up, broken and destined to slaughter. I know what I say to be true.Glenn you used to have my ear after this crap you are not who i thought you to be. even bought your book! You and Rush should do your homework a little better on this subject for sure.

  • landofaahs

You’rew right. What was I thinking? I spent some time behind the horse and I guess it proves each of us can be the horses rear end and it seems that statement made me one. I will change it thank you.

  • Tony Viscardi

Then we just have to get rid of those pesky pedestrians. Problem solved. No people, no traffic.

  • Tony Viscardi

As long as Kramer is not running around the city feeding them Chili, I see no problem with the Horses.

  • Tony Viscardi

If the horses in NYC are treated the same as the ones in Charleston SC, then they are very well cared for and regulated as to how long they can work and in what conditions. As in any buisness, there are always bad apples. If there are horse owners mistreating their animals, punish them severely and take away their license, don’t shut down the entire industry.

  • russellmuscle1

That sucks, what an asshat. His first big change is to get rid of the horse drawn carriages in the park?

So it’s a land deal, well, his Sandinista pals don’t allow private ownership of land, so maybe there is hope for this fake Communist.

  • drjustice61

The Irony of all this that corruptions such as The Mayor de Blasio and Steve Nislick corruption, and similar other corruptions are going on everyday in the US, yet all Americans do is talk about but do nothing to change it.

Politicians know that, and they well aware that they are above the law.

They are above the law because weak citizens such as Americans are too afraid to make changes.

This can only happen in the USA or in a third world country. Other first world nations wouldn’t tolerate this kind of behavior from any politician. Politicians like Mayor de Blasio would be lynched by the people or thrown in jail by the people.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this mayor has any connection to the mob.

The Daily News reported that Blasio received donation’s from slumlords.

    Yet he still won?

It is not that hard to rig an election. I know.

This Mayor screams corruption from every angle. Just wonder New Yorkers are this stupid or just ignorant to elect such an evil and dangerous person. Imagine when a tenant takes one of Blasio’s politically connected slumlord donor to court.

Who do you think will win?

  • Anonymous

Bill de Blasio even looks like the crooked mayor in the movie Broken City. Bet you money this guy goes straight out the door to jail.
