You won’t believe how one business is thanking its customers

Glenn has been talking a lot about the qualities that make a great leader, especially the idea that great leaders first and foremost serve others. And it’s not just the CEO – that idea applies to any person at any level. Someone on the bottom of the ladder can have just as much of an impact as someone at the top, as long as they are leading by example and showing service to others. But the qualities that make a good leader don’t have to be limited to a single person, they can extend to a company’s culture and how they treat their customers. In fact, a Canadian bank is taking that idea of service to others that Glenn has been talking about and and putting it at the heart of a new campaign to award some of their loyal patrons.

TD Canada decided they wanted to say “thank you” to their customers by turning their ATMs into Automated Thanking Machines, and they certainly went above and beyond in their appreciation.

The video’s slogan is “A thank you can change somebody’s day”, but some of those gifts are sure to last a whole lot longer.

A mother was given plane tickets to visit her sick daughter in Trinidad, shortly after she went in for an operation to battle cancer. Another woman, who has never been able to take her kids anywhere, was given a family vacation to Disneyland. A huge Blue Jays fan got to throw out the first pitch at his favorite team’s baseball game.

Chris Stamper, SVP Corporate Marketing atTD Bank Group, told Buzzfeed that they were looking for a unique way to show appreciation and thanks to some of their most loyal customers.

“Our local branch employees know their customers really well and often have close relationships with them. Some have been through tough times and some are just wonderfully kind and caring people,” he said.

In addition to the bigger items, the bank also gave $20 to each of their customers on July 25th.

In what should come as no surprise, the video has already accumulated more than 2.7 million views

Bank ONE crapped on after being a customer since it was AFNB and I was 12.

Nice job, if only for a commercial.

  • Natalie

made me cry. I am happy for those people. So many people never get gifts.

Okay, I just cried like a baby. How wonderful

A caring bank is why I switched to a credit union…. much more programs, incentives, give-away’s, and “thank you’s”. Not like the last bank I had that sucked balls (ahem, BANK OF AMERICA) that just found new ways to cheat you out of your money.

What a wonderful God like loving way to be, we should all be this giving. Just image if we all were, how much more joyful life would be!

  • Troy Showalter

I needed to see that. A few years ago, my business was doing very well and I did much to help and thank the community, my employees, and my customers. In recent times however, my business has been failing and I have made the decision to close the doors. I felt a little angry that, while I was there for so many in their times of need, it seemed no one was there in mine but, this video reminded me that I didn’t do what I did for recognition or so someone would owe me, I did it because it was what God put on me to do and it was the right thing to do. I prayed to God for a sign regarding my business and I received that sign. It is his will that I shut down so, like it or not, I must obey. Thank you for reminding me that owning a business isn’t about making money, it’s about making a difference.

    • C20

Inspiring to me to hear this. I have a little business and want it to touch hearts.

      • Anonymous

hey need an employee that might help you make a difference?

    • Anonymous

Troy, I know that where God guides, God provides. Praying for you as you take this step of faith, as painful as it may seem. God knows the plans He has for you. I pray you will continue to follow His steps and trust Him to continue to provide for all of your need. God is good, all the time! Blessings to you for your humility to share on such an open platform.

      • Sharon Tomalavage

Exactly, and God or Jesus didn’t rely on government to spread some goodness around. True Christian help comes from the heart-one WANTS to help rather than being forced to. My hat’s off to this bank. Perhaps some of our banks/businesses will do the same.

    • Tbcihoo1

Troy, the fact that you get it makes me smile…and cry. With Gods help, you will land on your feet and bless others again just as you have blessed me today. Onward and upward, my friend.

    • RueTheDay

So true, Troy: not for recognition, but because it’s the right thing to do. Sometimes hard to remember that, though.

    • Mac

God bless you and yours Troy!

just remember when one door closes another one opens. we fell on tough times as well a few years ago. had to let the house go in foreclosure because we couldnt afford to do the necessary repairs to stay there. so we took a big step and moved into the city right across from my hubbys business which also put me closer to work. we are renting now and loving it!! saving money by having a cheaper place to live and on gas as well. things will come through for you as well. have faith and hang in there. i feel very blessed right now that we made the right decision.

      • olf

        God Always Blesses Obedience.

    • olf

It is awesome to hear your story. God is working I can see it even in these times of uncertain future. When we obey sometimes it is a little scary but he always shows us one day at time. I believe that is because if He showed us too much we may not be prepared for it, I think it’s the training (character building) for His much more important plan that He has for us. I’ve been going through my training after He asked me to quit my job and start on a project I have never done before, so scary some yes. God always rewards obedience . God Bless your journey, He is leading you to a bigger duty station that is where He wants you to be. Thank You Lord for Your Guidance. Amen

I made the same decision as you. I can show invoices only half paid an on & on. The increase in refrigerant prices ( Than you EPA) and a labor market that will work for cash only( can’t lose the Govt. check) and in the past 3 years more and more of my customers feel the need to pay me is not necessary finally brought me to the decision. My business loss for 2013 was > 15k.
I can’t make a difference if I cannot afford my own food & medical bills.

      • RueTheDay

Sorry things didn’t work out. But you tried, and that takes a lot of courage.

    • brad maynard

as a business owner myself Troy and one who narrowly escaped from some really rough patches, my hats off to you sir. there is no such thing as being a failure in business. the heart, dedication, and risk you take on everyday separates people like yourself from the average 9-5er (not that I am in any way looking down on those who work for someone. PLEEEASE don’t think im saying that). good luck in the future and never give up.

    • B-Funk

I’ve had the same revelation recently. God has shown my Wife and I that this is what Americans (and Canadians) are actually about as he blesses us every time we make a difference for someone. Even in the little ways- smiling, chatting, expressing appreciation to our customers. God bless you and your business ventures in the future!

The Glenn Beck’s email subscription title is “Finally a reason to like Canada”.

This is not the title of this article on the website, only as an attention grabber for the subscription to the emails, but really, the put-down does not endear me to Glenn Beck at the very least if he would do such a cheap shot against my country.

By extension, it makes me wonder if this attitude is typical of that held by Americans.

    • Anonymous

I agree with you, Oracle9. Glenn Beck is going to lose a lot more subscibers/followers after this malicious intent against Canadians. He’s getting to think he’s invincible. He best watch himself. There are Canadians living in America.

      • http://Breitbart.com/ jcarl

I don’t understand the title either – I was touched by the video, but can’t send it to my family in Canada because of the title – what’s up w/that – I was born in Canada, and have been an American for years, but still feel offended. Come on Glenn!

      • RueTheDay

I’m hoping this wasn’t out of malicious intent but … ?

        • Watch it

I’m sure it wasn’t. Glenn seems to have a sometimes clumsy approach to comedy, but more likely it is the oafish ignorance of whoever put the email notes together..

          • RueTheDay

Yes, maybe humour that didn’t translate too well.

          • Anonymous

Beck is responsible for the “oafish” employee, just as a leader is as HE hired them for HIS business, so the bottom line is HE needs to correct and apologize.

          • Watch it

            He should.

      • Nate Horn

Jeez. Don’t be so sensitive. We Americans often hate on ourselves too. It’s a sign of endearment or maybe self loathing. Canadians can be awfully arrogant, prideful and condescending anyway. You let the insane Liberals take over your country and you don’t walk on water. Get over yourselves. :)

        • Anonymous

Nate. Speak for yourself ok. I’m one Canadian in Texas helping your country in ways you will soon find out. As a Canadian, I don’t believe in better than anyone and I certainly don’t walk on water. So, Nate, tell me what you’ve done for Canada??? Nothing! So, until you do, you have no reason to defend Glenn Beck. I’ve b helped more Americans than most Americans have. You’re barking up the wrong tree here. You can’t even stay with the topic at hand. Have a nice day.

          • Nate Horn

LoL… Don’t fly off the handle there Tex. You Canadians are so high strung! I was addressing the previous Canadian offendees as much or even more so than I was addressing you specifically. But how mysterious; “I’m one Canadian in Texas helping your country in ways you will soon find out.” Are you helping us get back to God or get rid of Obama and the Progressives? Because that’s what we really need. Have you been doing secret research on a Liberal destroying Neutron Bomb? Maybe you should test it out on Canada first? That’s a target rich environment… :) But don’t let rude ingrates like me ruin your inspiration though… :) Maybe you are lobbying the idiot government here in DC to complete the oil pipeline from Canada. That would be very helpful, universally beneficial and noble but fruitless with the current Communist regime in power down here.

I’m very happy for you that you’re humble. But how does that Canadian saying go? You’re bigger in the US but we’re better. I am a tad inclined to believe it’s true though, by the way… :) –all except for the Liberal cancer part however…

And what oracle informed you that I’ve never done anything for Canada anyhow? Miss. Cleo? I once ‘tried’ to spend tourist dollars there but the border guard wouldn’t let me in. A rather uptight and stuck-up fellow who seemed to think I wasn’t good enough for Canada-A. I did try my best though! Do I get an ‘E’ for effort? And I can’t defend Glenn Beck until I pay my dues to Canada? You’re goin’ off the rails a wee bit there Tex.

But on behalf of all Americans (for which I am the official spokesperson) thank you for all of the good you are doing down here- especially if it is the development of a Liberal nuke.

And yes, you’re right again, I do happily ramble. Guilty as
charged! You have a lovely day as well partner but don’t mess with Texas unless you’re wearing a cowboy hat!!!

          • Anonymous

I’m here in America as Christian Constitutional Conservative creating jobs and saving lives at the same time. You continue to knock Canada and mock. My name is not Texas and I won’t lower myself to call you names or knock America. I do wear a cowboy hat and I am in Texas, but that doesn’t make me a Patriot. What makes me a Patriot is what I’ve come here to do for neighboring country. I won’t allow your shots at me and Canada to take me off course. Just shows me how much more work I have to do here with real Patriots the don’t take shots at the allies. Hope you see how foolish you made yourself here. Hope this helps you to recognize where you need help.

          • Nate Horn

Wow Glenn, you’re way too sensitive. Tex is an affectionate moniker for someone from or living in Texas. You’re making way too much melodrama out a bit of good natured ribbing. If friends can’t give each other a hard time, then something is wrong. Life is too short to be that serious! Are your feelings about Canada THAT fragile? Go ahead and knock the US! God knows there’s a lot of things seriously wrong with this country- our growing Godlessness being one of the biggest. Take your best shot! I can come right back at ya- with pleasure! LoL… Take a deep breath Glenn and try not to take yourself quite so seriously.

I’m a Christian and a sinner just like you are so we have a lot in common. But if you’re looking for reverence from me when it comes to the affairs of man, you’re very unlikely to find it. Being a Christian Constitutional Conservative who creates jobs and saves lives (And even wears a cowboy hat!) sounds like an awesome gig to me, whatever that is, exactly. We need a lot more of those- for sure!!! So thanks for all you do and please pass the ideological sarcasm!

        • Anonymous

No. It was a cheap shot in a time when truth is on life support.

As far as liberals (I would use the more correct term “radical leftists” as in the Obama administration) taking over Canada, read about the statements and actions of the Canadian government and the regard that PM Harper has of being the leader of the free world. It’s the truth.

Harper stands consistently for the values of civilization. He supports the only democracy in the Middle East, has closed the Iranian embassy, and a great number of other positive actions instead of prostrating himself in the appeasement of barbarians – the default position of all Western governments, with the only exceptions being Australia and the Czech Republic.

          • Anonymous

            Very well stated, Oracle9.

          • olf

I do not think it was meant in a negative light guys, please give Glenn Beck a break. The guys working almost 24/7. An unintended error while worn out. He has no reason to make anyone offended. Now obarry we should be offended by them.

          • Anonymous

Make excuses all you want olford, Beck has done this numerous times; this isn’t his first time with his arrogance and derogatory statements at Canada. He’s so stupid he doesn’t even realize that Canadians subscribe to his lies and theft ideas. I was one of them; was! Keep defending him and you may as well defend you idiot pres at the same time. Maybe Beck should be reading his Bible more than his bank statements. He’s going down!

          • Rob Porter

Glenn, you are continuing to be pathetically neurotic. I haven’t forgotten the absurd anti-Americanism that rears it ugly head from time to time in Canada. If Canadians want to hand it out they’d better grow up and learn to handle criticism instead of labouring under absurd notions of national perfection and superiority to all others.

          • Rob Porter

Harper is without question the best leader Canada has had for many a year. But leader of the free world? What utter horse manure! Canadian delusion again! Further, the country is dominated by liberal thought, this reflected though it’s utterly gutless and dishonest media, and disgraceful politicians like the imbecilic Justin Trudeau. In Toronto such imbeciles abound. Yes, Harper has stood firmly by Israel and for that I am grateful, but in the midst of Muslim barbarism in which thousands of Christians have been savagely murdered by Muslim lands of the Middle East, not a word of condemnation. In that respect he is no different to Obama and Europe’s disgraceful leaders. Further, he foolishly involved Canada in the disgraceful Obama-instigated attack on Libya that has produced a worse circumstance than existed under Gaddaffi.

          • Anonymous

Well, Harper is certainly not perfect, but if you’re correct, then the free world is absolutely leaderless and rudderless, because there are no other voices unshackled by P-C delusion.

          • Rob Porter

I believe that I am correct. The free world is absolutely leaderless and rudderless, and it is shackled by P-C delusion. I remember better days, but today North American is satiated by P-C and it accompanying pretense and dishonesty. In such an atmosphere how does one get truth? You don’t because pretty much everyone – with a few exceptions like Mark Stein and Ezra Levant – won’t honestly speak their minds. It matters not how violent, intolerant and hate-filled is Islam, few will condemn it for its barbarism, instead parroting the drivel about it being a “religion of peace”. Instead it is a miserable, hate-filled, medieval ideology that is intent upon undermining the West, yet guess who is flowing into Canada as if they will not in time inflict on Canada the miseries of Sweden, Denmark, Holland, France, Belgium, etc. Canada is going to rue it’s foolishness and toward that Harper is contributing. “Without vision we perish”.

        • RueTheDay

Yup, we definitely sound more alike than different, lol.

      • Anonymous

And, of course, he’s always right and tells the truth. Surprising how many blind followers he has.

        • olf

You know thats not true. Glenn makes mistakes just like all of us, we are not perfect, Jesus alone is perfect. Glenn admits when he makes a mistake, he’s a real man that is willing to stand up and take responsibility for error.

          • Nate Horn

And most importantly he’s not afraid to make mistakes… An important and bold characteristic! :)

    • Adele Buyak

I don’t understand the title either and as an American I’m puzzled why it would be used. I don’t know anyone who harbors ill will towards our neighbors in Canada.

      • RueTheDay

Glad to hear you say so. We’ve all got a big enough battle on our hands fighting our respective progressive politicians. We sure don’t need to be battling each other, too.

        • olf

God Bless Truth ! We must unite not nitpick issues of small priority. We have a lot of good people among us, please lets work together keeping our minds and hearts focused on a government that has went south of the border. God Bless your focus.

    • Mac

No. We love you all north of the border! You have a great country and we admire you all. I have lived on the East Coast for all of my 53 years. There is never anything bad said about you all. Seriously.

    • Anonymous

Can make all the excuses for Glenn Beck all you want. It IS his arrogance as he’s done it before. It IS malicious intent, seeing as he has done it before. I EXPECT an apology and I WILL make this go viral. I’m done with this guy. He is not the guy you all think he is. He steals ideas from other people and advertises as if it’s his own idea. I think that is dark. I’ve been on the fence about him for a while now as others hsve pointed out some things he’s done; very hypocritical stuff. I just didn’t want to believe it. If you only knew. Sad. I was naive I’ll admit; not anymore.

      • Anonymous

Sorry Oracle9, posted this under the wrong person. Hopefully they will read it. I’m sure they will.

    • Anonymous

trust me its not at least not by the people i know. i have been to canada several times as we only live about an hour from the border. we are close to detroit. so ive been in ontario and quebec and toronto as well as windsor. i love your country. very nice cities and we have vacationed up there. went camping there a few times.

    • James

I don’t think you’ll find that a typical attitude in the US. My younger Sister wanted very badly to move to Canada, had friends there and a couple of offers of lucrative jobs, but her responsibilities kept her here until she passed away. Canada was her “Someday” dream. I know relatively little about Canada, but I enjoy some Canadian TV programs and have liked the Canadians I’ve met. Very good people. Looking forward to better times and better finances so I can ride my Harley around the US and through Canada on a long vacation.
I can only suggest that Beck (or one of his underlings) threw down that comment without thinking of its ramifications. His bad. He should have thought those words through before letting them go to print. I’m offended by that title too,but over the years I’ve also learned to forgive the occasional stupid, unthinking remark-they happen so often these days people CAN’T be as bad as they often sound.

      • Anonymous

Yeah, we have thick skins. Thanks for the comments.

its a joke. LOL. you’re always supposed to talk trash about your best “competition” . You guys can handle it. Do we never express love by allowing that the other side can take a joke? it is difficult to hear the tone of voice with printed word. Glenn is working really hard to be more clear when he is kidding . This man is a soft hearted pussycat when it comes to charity and empathy and love. Give the guy a break.

Glenn Beck, I’ve just lost all respect I had left for you. “Finally a reason to like Canada…” and you preach malice towards none??? You’re a hypocrite in so many ways. People are onto you; more and more every day. You need to publicly retract that statement with apology. Canadians subscribe to you. I’m Canadian and you need to personally apologize to me! I will make this go viral. It will be easier now that you are losing people as they’re dropping like flies!!… Glenn Atkinson is my name. Waiting for apology!

Not angry at all lol. Just making observations to Glenn Beck and his chosen title sighting Canada. Problem with that?

          • Anonymous

Don’t be surprised or upset about Beck. He knows so little about Canada that it shows in his comment on this article. Reminds me when I met a couple from Texas on vacation in Northern Ontario in July a few years back. They had a pair of snow tires strapped to the top of their car. They said they fully expected snow and blizzards during their trip. Beck is so much like those Texans.

          • Rob Porter

I live in Canada and am sometimes amazed by how clueless Canadians are about other parts of the world. I’m also amazed by how sensitive Canadians are to criticism – as if they think they are beyond it even when highly critical of others.

        • Rob Porter

You did say you were Canadian, so regardless of where you presently live you did invite reaction because of the nature of your posting.

    • Anonymous

Obama has made every one so thin skinned. I am sure Glenn meant no malice toward Canadians. My first impression when I read the title was he was just giving you a good natured ribbing as we used to say before every became so touchy.

      • Anonymous

Glenn has shown poor respect for words he uses sometimes. Lately, he has offended many listeners and subscribers. Maybe it is some lack of proper education. He expects his supporters to side with him on his opinions all the time.

    • Rob Porter

Glenn Atkinson, give it a break. Why get your knickers in a knot over so little? Maybe Glenn Beck said that with tongue in cheek. Getting all aquiver and neurotic over criticism or a slight is just so Canadian! National self-righteousness accompanied by national delusion is a terrible thing! It leads to hyper-sensitivity. I live in Canada where anti-Americanism has sometimes astounded me, yet no one has offered Americans an apology. So “go viral”, it’ll only make you look pathetic.

      • Anonymous

I didn’t know there was a lot of anti-Americanism in Canada. As an American, that’s kind of depressing. I’ve always thought of Canada as our friend.

        • Rob Porter

There is less of it right now because Obama is in office and Canadians are dim enough and so Liberal most regard this disgraceful deadbeat president “a great guy” – as one tv personality, Brian Lilley, informed me. But when G.W. Bush was in office they just loved knocking the U.S.

    • onesmallvoice

Two things: 1) Speaking as a Californian, and for Americans- we love Canada and Canadians! In fact my son is living in Canada right now and is really enjoying it. The Canadians have been very good to him.
      2) We can be sure that Glenn doesn’t send out the Glenn Beck emails. Undoubtedly some employee wrote that subject line and was pretty proud of himself/herself for coming up with a catchy headline. And they were right…it is catchy…but for the wrong reason. It is very distasteful, no doubt. But I’m sure the only thing Glenn doesn’t like about Canada is the same thing he doesn’t like about America right now, and that is the progressive policies that both countries are embracing.
We can’t afford to be divided. A house divided against itself cannot stand. Please, my Canadian friends- forgive and forget.

  • C20

I love Canada and would like to live way up north of Jasper!

  • Buck Buchanan

    That is excellent!

  • Jenny Martin

In my opinion someone was not thinking when they made that headline and I think an apology should be forthcoming. I used to be a big fan but I think on his way up the ladder he has lost himself and now everything seems to be about money, he has turned into a selling machine . He is always selling some outrageously high priced item, look at his clothing line, the average person could not even be able to begin to afford any of this stuff.

    • Anonymous

      Very well stated, Jenny! :-)

That was awesome. To the bank in Canada, “Eh, great job!” To those who received the really special gifts, God bless you and even and older guy can drop a few tears of joy for you. Thanks Glenn for making my day a lot brighter!

  • Penny Mander

What’s with the “Finally a reason to like Canada” headline? Is the
writer not aware that Canada’s Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, is the
ONLY world leader who stands with Israel and speaks out for her? He has
done so since becoming our leader in 2006 – the exact opposite of your
incumbent. Educate yourself, whoever you are who wrote that offensive
    headline. Truly assinine.

PS Dictionary definition of ‘Assinine: Stupid, dim-witted, pointless.’

Yep, that about covers it. Meanwhile, thanks to those here who took the time to say they like Canada! Back at you, big time.

glenn i dont understand the title a reason to like canada?? as if i didnt like canada before?? i love that country about as much as i do ours. canada is gorgeous. beautiful cities and countryside. why such a titile. yougot some explaining to do.

  • Peggy

Why are people always looking for something to fuss about. I do not get the same from Glenn’s post. He was talking about a bank doing good things for their customers. I say praise God, someone is making someone’s day. Do something good for someone else and You will feel better, instead of complaining about something someone else is doing. Have a Good Day and God Bless.

Peggy, if you read the title, you would see why, instead of jumping to conclusions. If you had read the quotations in my original post you would have seen the reasons why a few of us are not impressed. Have a nice day.

GlennAtkinson, Are you perfect? Why so much hate towards Glenn? If you were in Glenn’s shoes and someone made a mistake like that and attributed it to you just because you own the company, would you still be ok with that? I bet you won’t so give him a break! He’s not perfect and so are you. Don’t be so quick to judge. You’ve let your hate ooze out of your lips. Would Jesus be proud of you for being that hateful? Ooops, you may not be a Christian, so disregard that. Try to be forgiving…everyone makes mistakes and I’m sure Glenn didn’t mean for this to come out like this. And if he did, he would be the first one to apologize. I don’t think he hates Canada or the Canadians as you think or assume he does. Give him a break!

samochief. I am Christian and Glenn Beck is as well. We are suppose to, in fellowship, point out to others these corrections. If you had read all of my comments in reply to others, you would see that I’ve mentioned that Glenn Beck has made the same derogatory comments about Canada many times. So, you see, it’s intentional. Why are you defending someone without all the facts? You probably should educate yourself first before making a fool of yourself here. Of course people make mistakes; we all do. Intentional and mistakes are not one in the same. My employees I deal with and YES I do take the responsibility as an owner. I deal with employees privately though. If you had any business sense at slk, you would know that ad business 101. Have a nice day.

Don’t see hatred being displayed by GlennAtkinson…just disappointment at the on going disparaging of his country. I don’t blame him. But you seem intent on giving Glenn a pass on everything. Yes, we all make mistakes. But when you do, apologize to those wronged. Glenn is no different

A very AWSOME thing to do.

Heartwarming story from our friends to the north! But the headline ? Shame on Glenn

Glenn: I am one of your biggest Canadian fans and supporters and when I saw this title, I got really upset. I have to ask- What do you really know about Canada?

Instead of firing off a nasty comment,I thought instead,to say to you that in the spirit of coming together, to say to you that there is so much more about Canada than you will ever know. To use one of your favourite maxims: Do your homework and you’ll see what I mean.

Along with our beautuful scenery and places to visit, people here are about as friendly as you can get. We have a Prime Minister and government who, like you, supports Israel unconditionally. We have maple syrup, Nanaimo bars, hockey, curling, the best sportfishing anywhere, beautiful lakes and mountains. We have Niagara Falls (where I live), Tim Hortons coffee and doughnuts that beat Starbucks and any American chain hands down. We are a patriotic bunch and go all our on Canada Day on July 1st.

Sure we have our problems here like any other country, but don’t judge us until you know us.Instead of writing a title like you did, come to Canada and see what our country is all about. Do a story on TD’s customer service. BTW,I am a TD customer and have been for many years. You cannot beat them for customer service. Meet our Prime Minister and talk about your mutual support for Israel. Take a tour of Canada from the East to the West Coast. You won’t be disappointed and what you see and who you meet.

Very well stated, V103115! Thank you. :-)

I went to Canada three times in the seventies( Including Niagara Falls) and loved it. My son and a friend took a road trip last spring through Montreal to Radisson (visiting the hydroelectric plant also) and the James Bay and Chisasabi and loved it. I hope someday I can go back to Canada for a visit. Don’t worry, we Americans have always thought of Canadians as our friends.

What a difference. My mother had just died – we buried her a few days before my brain surgery, and I went into a coma. I was not expected to live, and suffered great brain damage. When I came out of the coma, I found B of A had put me in foreclosure. No one explained to me that I could pay them $4600 and be done with it, so I eventually paid them $20,000, and $3500 to an attorney. Then they started calling me requesting more money. I finally just sold the house in a short sale. B of A executives are the “ugly Americans” we talk about. Maybe I’ll go rent a house in Canada.

I had trouble with Bank of America too. It took a few month of visits and phone calls and $114 to get copies of 38 cancelled checks. It was insane.

As an American may I be the first to apologize for a stupid employee’s “Leading Line”. This story is a compliment to Canada, and I don’t want that to get muddied up. This is a positive story. Let’s leave it on a positive note!

    • Anonymous

Thank you Pocahontas. Very well stated. I was just making a point to Glenn Beck. The people that want to defend him, that’s their prerogative. You’re very kind. Have a nice day.

  • Richard

This story was making me cry like Glenn does for those special things in life.

  • Jenn

THAT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME! GOD BLESS!

Beck’s flunkies apparently didn’t even bother to take the time to discover that TD Bank is well known for its Liberal Party friendly top execs in Canada and has been enchanted to have Hillary spout off numerous times at their gatherings for big bucks. As for Beck’s fishing for dullards email sideshow barker headline grabbers, spare me.

My husband and I are small business owners, as Christians and as human beings on this planet our goal was to help other people, but it seems our government is doing everything in its power to discourage and destroy small business. We are so fortunate that our community stands behind and supports us as much as we try to support them. There is a lot of love and caring in our small community and we are proud to be a part of it. It is the government that is dragging us down and putting us under. The taxes for earning money, the taxes for spending money, the taxes for existing, it is never ending. We paid very good wages to the people that work with us for our area, many weeks we cannot afford to pay ourselves. Being a small business Obamacare and health insurance is not a major issue, we give the people that work with us bonuses when they get ill or need medical assistance. The people that work with us are our friends, we are very much like a family and treat each other as such. Believe me they are as disgusted with our government and all the taxes and red tape and hoopla as we are.
Our government was bad enough before Obama got in, but he has accelerated the greed of politicians and government spending along with emptying the pockets of every hard working American. Obama is bankrupting this country as fast as he can. I have always supported our president whether I voted for them or not, but I do not believe he is a natural born citizen therefore cannot be our president. He himself wrote a book to that effect long before he or anyone else had expectations of him being anything more than a small time politician. He doesn’t even act like a president, he has no respect for our country our Constitution or our laws. Even though I did not vote for him when he was elected I was proud to be alive to see a person of color, even though he is not black, and please understand I mean no disrespect to people of color, we are all human beings, but since I truly believe he is not a natural born citizen of the United States he is a dictator. A dictator is how he acts. I believe he is doing his best to force the citizens of this country into a revolt so that he can declare civil disobedience, use our military against us thus securing his dictatorship. I will be relieved if we are allowed to have a presidential election in the future. May God bless our country.
