From The Marketplace: How a family business builds pillars of strength in disaster preparedness

“We want to help people.” — Eve Gonzales, Trading Post in the Woods

When she was in college, Eve Gonzales met many people who were struggling with life in a variety of ways. Feeling called to serve, she decided to start a ministry where she could be an encouragement to people in need every day.

Over the next three decades, Eve and her family dedicated themselves to helping people, particularly those recovering from disaster situations.

“It has saddened me for many years to see the needless suffering that happens in a disaster area,” Eve said.

After countless experiences responding to disasters, both large and small, Eve and her family realized they could do more by providing education and supplies to people to prepare themselves before an emergency should occur.
