Joe the Plumber to Joe the Congressman

We were all introduced to Joe the Plumber when he confronted Obama with questions that the mainstream media avoided in the 2008 election …and got answers that should have raised a red flag in every undecided voter across the country.

SE Cupp sat down with Joe the Plumber this week at CPAC to talk about his campaign in Ohio, where he will either be running against Dennis Kucinich or Marcy Kaptur, and, of course, the GOP presidential primary. Who would Joe like to see running against in President Obama in November?

He may or may not face off against Kaptur or Kucinich.  Please publish facts.  Joe the Plumber has NOT YET WON HIS PRIMARY.  He has a non-celebrity opponent, therefore lesser known candidate in Steve Kraus.

I am from what would be his district, and I have a question. How does a 20 second conversation with Obama make you qualified for congress? Everybody that gets a few seconds  of national publicity think they are the next Justin Beiber, I’m so sick of it. I will vote for the most qualified candidate, not the youtube video of the week. This country is getting so shallow.

    Glenn,
I just finished your book on BEING LIKE WASHINGTON, and really enjoyed the history and conflicts (both mental & in war), he went through in freeing America from the British…..However, being a writer myself, the first writing class I took, the teacher said this; “THAT & THE are the two most overused, and unnecessary words in the English language!”—–You have proven her right. You used THAT at least 500 unnecessary times!  It was very distracting from the meat of the story!  PLEASE use an editor in your next book.

Glenn, I’m don’t use Facebook and I’m embarrased to say I am not familiar with Twitter.  So, if you will allow me, I’ll communicate with you this way.  I’ve been reading “The Founders’ Key” by Larry P. Arnn.  I’ve never read this author before, but in the first few pages of his book he wrote some very enlightening words with respect to the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.  They are…”In the end the modern  opposition to the Declaration and the Constitution stems from the same source.  The Founders understood the documents to be connected, to supply together the principles and the details of government, to be a persuasive and durable unity.”…”The arrangements of the Constitution have a way of organizing our actions so as to produce certain results, and they have done this more reliably than any government instrument in the history of man.”…”The Declaration acquires a practical form and operation that do not seem to come from it alone.  The Constitution soars to the elevation of natural law, and its arrangements are reinforced with that strength.”

I don’t know if I will ever understand why our congress cannot put this together.  It’s so simple.  If they would stop fighting amongst themselves long enough to understand the simplicity, our government could and would run so much more smoothly.  Thank you for reading this.

I am listening right now to Santorum and Beck.  Why are social security and medicare constantly referred to as “entitlements”?  I work at a public assistance office in PA and can TELL everyone about entitlements.  People pay into social security and medicare their entire lives – this is a benefit – NOT an entitlement.  If anything put social security into the red, it was using it (by our government ) for reasons it was never established for.   IF we will not be able to use/maintain these funds, why doesn’t the tax CEASE and working people can save/invest those funds and have employers match for retirement.  Give me a break.  I get sick of hearing the term “entitlement” when it comes to taxes/benefits specifically set for these programs being paid all our lives and then categorized as an entitlement.  People on assitance (most) are receiving entitlements and it IS a life style – not a stepping stone for people to support themselves.  I have not heard one politician or anyone make the separation/difference.  I think that is one reason people get so upset – they have worked hard and then are being categorized like people that actually are receiving entitlements.  I have not heard one politican state entitlements will continue but people will have to work for them – even if they are picked up by buses and taken to parks or other places and clean up or do whatever help is needed.  I de-tossled corn when I was under the age of 16 to just make some money.  I did that several years and was proud of the money I made and contributed to the household.  Kids would never do that today – parents and society are as much to blame as anyone, not government.  Please look at the problems of society as a whole, starting with the individual (as Beck is doing) and realizing the lack of morality/truth starts on an individual level, going into corporate, into city, into county, into state and then federal.  We are reaping what we have sown.  These politicians have been elected and re-elected because people are profiting from earmarks/pork and everyone needs to re-assess their part in all of this.  Everyone is accountable.

No ambiguous answer? Asked if he stands behind his comments about gay friends not being allowed near his children, Joe dodged and ducked his way through the rest of the interview. Just another straight shooter, who isn’t.

You say that you vote for the most qualified candidate – so I have to assume that you DID NOT vote for Obama in 08 …
