It’s not deficits; it’s tax policy. Reagan/Bush set the middle class back by undermining progressive taxation. We have decline in middle class because of tax policy, and that will not get better until the “extra” money people have is taxed at a rate that pays for wars, services, infrastructure and other gov’t functions. That rate needs to float depending upon the economy. Sometimes the supply side needs funding; sometimes the demand side needs funding. This period is the latter! People need jobs; gov’t needs $. 

The wealthy stash their money, like Mendacious Mitt, offshore to the tune of trillions and trillions. That’s not creating American jobs. It’s collecting tax free interest.

Like most leftwits you have missed the point – it is the excessive spending and corruption. A good amount of what is wrong with Federal finances is they always spend more than they have, and that is because of the way they spend the money they are given via appropriations. Each year’s budget is based on the last, so being cost effective isn’t the focus. Instead, departments blow any surplus, spending in fear of being given less funding the following year.

We are beyond broke, and that is the point you and your lefty left leftists miss. The country can’t afford to keep on escalating spending – cuts are needed, and corruption eliminated, we are out of money and that is why we have a national debt nearing 16 Trillion.

You can’t spend your way out of debt. That is what this administration has been trying to do.

This country has had a deficit for seventy years. Eventually something has to be done about the waste and corruption.

 The Federal Reserve isn’t owned by private bankers, it is essentially a group of banks owned by shareholders but is actually a board representing those shareholder owned banks whom the government has granted the authority to manage the country’s monetary policy, the chairperson this board is appointed by the President. If they fleece the American people, and I am not saying that they don’t, it is with the permission of the President–who is now Obama. 

So, how much is enough? And how do you explain the idea that even if you took all the money of the wealthy – not just taxed it, but flat out took it all, that it still wouldn’t be enough to eliminate the debt?

Yes, it is. The plan they use is to make the various agencies get by with emergency measures that they have passed in place of a legitimate budget.

And the Democrats wonder why the public’s opinion of Congress is and has been at an all time low for about three years now. They will give themselves raises but not do anything about doing their primary responsibilities.

They should all be fired and their retirement packages declared null and void.

I completely agree that Obama’s budget is terrible. I can’t really think of anything I agree with Obama on except for the need for a college football playoff system. However, the Romney/Ryan budget is also ludicrous. 

Paul Ryan’s budget won’t balance the budget for 20-30 years, and he’s the conservative one! Even in his plan, he makes unrealistic assumptions that inflation, interest rates, and unemployment will all trend toward historically low levels. That is not possible, and those bad assumptions are going to lead to massive debt! Romney/Ryan are not serious about cutting spending. Even if Republicans win in November, we have to plan that Democrats will eventually come back in power. That is why we have to be more serious about cutting entitlements and war spending. If Republicans are running bad deficits in 2013-2016, you can bet that the Democrats will run bigger deficits next time around.

I support Dr. Ron Paul, but there are other people like him that are running for president. Don’t believe the lies that voting for someone besides Romney/Obama is a waste of your vote! Convince your friends that support Obama to make a stand with you!

Stick to the point I was making.  It is a fact that the head chairperson can recommend a reduction in rate, dictate policy and request a flood of extra capital into the market.  I could care less who is on the board or who owns it because Bernanke has the President’s ear thus a main influence.  I do agree that Wilson made this assumption that the FED would enact a security blanket to guard against a massive devaluing of our dollar to preserve our economy when all it did was empower the government to spend, ironically devaluing our dollar in the process and reducing our borrowing power in REAL currency that was produced and not printed.  THAT was my point in regards to the issue and not some self important garbage you took it for.

 I do agree that banks are collaborating with the government to serve one another’s interest.  Ending the FED would be a majority of Congress and the consent of the White House to no longer delegate any authority to one group or one person to set an agenda on how lending and interest rates are handled.  Essentially, the government would have to consult with large banks INSTEAD OF directing them.  Eliminate QE and allow all banks to compete across the board for business without government mandates that set forth the collapse with sub prime lending during the Clinton administration.  You would see a spike in value to the dollar which would assist in our standing with international commerce and eliminate the threat of the Chinese currency taking over as the common exchange currency. 

I guess that was my point, put in more simplistic terms. The Feds should not be out-sourcing our currency. Of course they would have to consult with the banks and many things, but in the end, letting them have the control of our monetary system is a MAJOR mistake.

First, when one realizes who the bankers are and just exactly who is behind most of our politicians, you will come the conclusion that they are one in the same. The moment the Federal Reserve Act was passed, it put our currency in the hands of the private bankers, the same people buying most of our politicians.
