Glenn also welcomed the woman he would vote for were he in Iowa- Michele Bachmann. While Glenn has made it clear he does not endorse of campaign for candidates, he’s made it clear that he’s a big fan of hers.
Glenn welcomed her to the program and asked her what she thought of Sarah Palin’s comment that it was “not her time” to be President.
“Well, it's interesting because the only statewide election that has occurred so far was the Iowa straw poll and the only person who won that race was me. So clearly people in Iowa felt that I had something to offer. I think that I do too because I know what's at stake right now in our country. We are at a turning point in the nation. We have to make the choice: Are we going to stay on the road of socialism, socialist policies, or will we turn to the Constitution. It's one or another: Will we go on and will we grow, or will we go into a terminal descent. I choose to go on,” she said.
“There's a lot of Republicans that have been what you might call frugal socialists. Actually it's not very frugal. They continue the same establishment system in Washington. That's really my calling card, Glenn. That's really what sets me apart. I'm 55 years old and for 50 years I've lived a real world life where my family was below poverty and by God's grace I earned my way out of that below poverty and became a successful tax lawyer. But I also, with my husband, started a successful company in the private sector. So we've lived the American dream. But the other Republican candidates involved, some of them have helped create this system of socialized medicine that we have. Mitt Romney is the only governor in the history of the United States that's actually put socialized medicine into place in the state. It's not realistic to think that someone who created the problem is actually going to solve it. The same is the problem with Newt Gingrich. I am the only one of the candidates who's gone to Washington D.C. and taken on the system, where I brought 40,000 Americans to fight against ObamaCare. I'm the first member of congress to file a bill to get rid of ObamaCare,” she told Glenn.
Bacchman also addressed foreign policy, specifically the threat of radical Islam and a nuclear Iran.
“Let's look at the recent history of what radical Islamists have done. Ten years ago they took out the two tallest buildings in New York City. They used an airplane as a weapon to attack the Pentagon. Now we know without a shadow of a doubt their intention is to infiltrate the United States and to bring about death and destruction. As recently as September of this year, the president of Iran said that he wants to gain a nuclear weapon and use it. They will use a nuclear weapon. And if there's anything history has taught us, Glenn, it's that when a madman speaks look at Stalin, look at Mao, look at Hitler when they speak, when they give their intentions, we need to pay attention to that.”
