Glenn has been telling us to get on our knees and pray for your country. Well, if you’re a Mitt Romney supporter you may want to throw him into that prayer, because he has just received the kiss of death. Yes, as Pat so eloquently put it, “the Black Plague of politics,” Senator John McCain, has just thrown all of his support behind Mitt Romney.
Senator John McCain took a little trip out to New Hampshire for “one reason and one reason only” ... well, except for the plethora of reasons he’s not telling you about. He has decided to endorse Mitt Romney as the GOP presidential nominee for the 2012 election. Yes, the same Mitt Romney that Senator McCain couldn’t stand when he was competing against him during the last GOP primary election. In 2008 if John McCain had said “fight with me my friend” to Mitt Romney, it would have been gloves off.
In typical progressive fashion, John McCain has jump in the mix in an effort of destruction, not building. He short, John McCain seems to be operating under the concept of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.”
As Stu put it, “I think the most likely explanation is that he's making the decisions the same way that a lot of voters are, which is he's picking the one he hates least. I think he really has problems with Rick Santorum. The rumor is that they really couldn't stand each other when they were ‑‑ when he was in the Senate and he just, he really doesn't like Santorum. I don't think he likes Romney, either, but I think he thinks he's the only other guy to go with at this point.”
Now the questions is, will the establishment GOP machine succeed in bringing down the rise of Rick Santorum, or will this be the kiss of death for Mitt Romney?
