You'd hardly know it by watching the mainstream media coverage yesterday but there was a hearing yesterday on the Fast & Furious scandal. Attorney General Eric Holder arrogantly shrugged off criticism of his program to smuggle guns across the border - at least one of the guns ended up being used in the murder of a U.S. Border Patrol agent.
Glenn and Pat started the radio show this morning playing some astonishing audio of Holder berating a Congressman who made a presentation of some of the statements Holder has made on the "Fast & Furious" scandal.
Holder was on Capitol Hill to testify in an ongoing congressional probe into the failed Operation Fast and Furious, in which weapons sold to Mexican drug cartels were not tracked, resulting in the deaths of hundreds, including a U.S. Border Patrol agent.
According to National Review Online, Holder was responding to a “grandstanding presentation” by Republican Congressman Raul Labrador that “cobbled together testimony from Holder going back ten years to establish a ‘pattern’ of Holder saying, in effect, ‘I don’t know’ in testimony.”
“There’s a whole bunch of things that I could say about what you just did, maybe this is the way you do things in Idaho or wherever you’re from,” Holder said. “But understand something — I‘m proud of the work that I’ve done as attorney general of the United States, and looked at fairly, I think that I’ve done a pretty good job.”
"These two are having an elite-off and they're both using their power," Glenn said.
"Now, I personally believe the Congressman was right. Eric Holder is corrupt. This Department of Justice is out of control. There's no way he didn't know about Fast and Furious."
"If there's any sanity at the end of this administration, this will go down as the most corrupt administration in the history of the United States and that's saying something. And the reason why is because they control the DOJ," Glenn added.
"You have to ask yourself, What kind of damage is this guy doing to our FBI, to our justice system? What kind of damage is a guy who is corrupt, who's running guns on the border, who doesn't pay any attention at all to the Black Panthers, who doesn't believe that there's such a thing called Islamic extremism," he said.
Glenn recalled a passage from Ezekiel that affected him years ago.
But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood.'
"This is why I do what I do, because I take that one promise to me seriously. Let me promise something to people like Eric Holder. You will be held responsible for all those who lose their freedom. When man comes to trial in the courts, you will be held responsible for what you do and what you do not do right now. I hope I'm in line behind you, my friend, because I think it's going to be pretty darn easy to look good after the people in this administration. I'm not your judge, but I hope to testify against you," Glenn said.
