Catholic church vows to take Obama fight to the streets

Glenn woke up this morning to see the front page of the Drudge Report showing news that the Church planned to take their conflict with Obama "to the streets". Kind of a bad way to start  the day, right? The attacks on people of faith have gotten stronger and stronger, but at least now people are starting to push back against the needless intrusion of government into their churches and congregations. Glenn reacted to the news on radio this morning.

The Blaze reports:

The battle over the Obama administration’s contraception mandate continues to heat up. On Monday, Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, made some bold proclamations regarding just how hard the Catholic Church plans to fight the government’s requirement that religious-affiliated schools and organizations cover contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs.

“Never before, unprecedented in American history, for the federal government to line up against the Roman Catholic Church,” said Donohue. “This is going to be fought out with lawsuits, with court decisions, and, dare I say it, maybe even in the streets.”

Here, Donohue is calling for Catholics and supporters of religious freedom to join in peaceful protest against the mandate. Similar action (peaceful marches and events) has been taken in New York City, where religious groups have converged to fight a local ban on the use of public schools for worship.

Upon reading the news this morning, Glenn said that "every alarm bell in me went off."

"Because something is not right here.  There's no way this President can lose the Catholic vote."

Glenn said that President Obama relies heavily on the Hispanic voting bloc for support, the majority of whom are Catholic. There were also many members of the Catholic clergy who helped lobby for ObamaCare to pass just a few years ago. Glenn said that the Catholic community believes in social justice, but that a segment of them believe that government should play a role in bringing it to fruition rather than relying on individual charity. Those that follow the more progressive philosophy sided with Obama on ObamaCare, not now he has turned against them.

So why is Obama so quick to dismiss them?

"Now they feel betrayed.  And now they're angry.  And now the Catholics are organizing as they should," Glenn said.

Glenn said that the administration has presented, possibly, a win/win situation for their side. If the Catholics do not oppose the legislation then they lose their moral ground. If they do fight back, it adds more chaos to the country.

So what does this chaos mean for America? Watch tonight on GBTV to find out! Sign up here!

California's Board of Education voted unanimously to approve a new, multi-million-dollar Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum, which will be offered statewide with many of the state's largest school districts making it a requirement for graduation. According to National Review, the curriculum is "probably the most radical, polemical, and ideologically loaded educational document ever offered up for public consideration in the free world."

On the radio program Tuesday, Glenn Beck reacted to the newly approved curriculum, calling it "the craziest, most terrifying story I have ever had to report."

Glenn read an excerpt from the National Review report describing the curriculum:

Students are to be taught that white Christian settlers committed "theocide" against indigenous tribes when they arrived in the New World by murdering Native American gods and replacing them with the Christian God. According to the curriculum, this replacement ushered in a regime defined by "coloniality, dehumanization, and genocide," and the "explicit erasure and replacement of holistic Indigeneity and humanity." But all is not lost, we are told. For students will learn that they have the power and the responsibility to build a social order defined by "countergenocide," which will eventually supplant the last vestiges of colonial Christianity and pave the way for the "regeneration of indigenous epistemic and cultural futurity."

Students first clap and chant to the god Tezkatlipoka — whom the Aztecs traditionally worshipped with human sacrifice and cannibalism — asking him for the power to be "warriors" for "social justice." Next, the students chant to the gods Quetzalcoatl, Huitzilopochtli, and Xipe Totek, seeking "healing epistemologies" and "a revolutionary spirit." Huitzilopochtli, in particular, is the Aztec deity of war and inspired hundreds of thousands of human sacrifices during Aztec rule. Finally, the chant comes to a climax with a request for "liberation, transformation, [and] decolonization," after which students shout "Panche beh! Panche beh!" in pursuit of ultimate "critical consciousness."

Glenn explained some of the horrifying details of the Aztec worship traditions California's educators and administrators seek to "regenerate," including human sacrifice by the tens of thousands, cannibalism, and the severe and prolonged torture and sacrifice of children.

"Those are the gods that they [the Board of Education in California] think really need to be worshiped and brought back in our understanding because that whole Christian God was only about 'oppression'," Glenn said sardonically.

"Gang, we are in biblical-sized trouble," he added. "We are under attack from the forces of darkness unlike anything I've ever seen before ... because the soul of our nation, and the soul of children, is at stake."

Cigna — the 13th largest corporation in the U.S. measured by revenue — has recently started teaching employees critical race theory. Those lessons, however, have been "quietly" protested by some workers who leaked lesson screenshots to the Washington Examiner.

On "The Glenn Beck Radio Program," Glenn and co-host Stu Burguiere discussed a lesson on "inclusive language" — and you won't believe which phrases Cigna classifies as offensive. Do you use any of these phrases in your daily life?

WARNING: Here's who's REALLY behind 'spooky, right-wing' extremism

Over the past year, the left has tried to paint conservatives as "spooky, right-wing" extremists who want to destroy the nation. But true conservatives know that's not true. However, there is a dangerous global movement that fits this "spooky" definition — masquerading as "right-wing" — and it's gaining momentum. It's called Traditionalism, with a capital "T."

This week on "The Glenn Beck Podcast," author and award-winning expert on the radical right Professor Benjamin Teitelbaum joined Glenn to define Traditionalism and explain why it's exactly how the left wants to paint conservatives — but that couldn't be further from the truth.

Teitelbaum said Traditionalism is the "most transformative political movement of the early 21st century" in his book, "War for Eternity," which Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Glenn Greenwald called "an indispensable text" for understanding "the most profound and tumultuous political shifts defining societies on every continent." It's a bizarre story, involving Steve Bannon, Hinduism, Hitler, mysticism, Aleksandr Dugin, the Constitution, and tons and tons of money.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) joined Glenn Beck on the radio program Thursday to explain how "rabid partisanship" is causing President Joe Biden and his administration to make the political decisions directly responsible for the "absolute crisis at the border" — and it's getting worse every day.

Cruz described how the Biden administration is caving to the "hard left" agenda that supports open borders and views U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as the equivalent of the Ku Klux Klan or Nazis. He listed the Trump-era policies Biden has overturned, including halting construction of the border wall, re-instituting the failed policy of "catch and release," and ending the "Remain in Mexico" policy — "a big foreign policy victory of the Trump administration."

Cruz then sounded off on the left's unbelievable hypocrisy concerning the "kids in cages" narrative, and the Biden administration's "laughable" excuse for not allowing journalists access to border facilities.

"For four years of the Trump presidency, Democrats and the media talked every day about kids in cages. What they ignored is that Barack Obama built the cages. You and I both went to those cages during the Obama administration," Cruz told Glenn. "They utterly ignored that. And now, Joe Biden is making the cages bigger, and they're more full. And I'll tell you, it's truly a catastrophe. You take a facility, like the Donna facility in South Texas. It has a capacity of 250 people ... it currently has nearly 4,000."

"So, there's a reason why the Biden administration is trying to hide it. I'm flying down to the border tonight, and I'm bringing 18 senators down to the border to see firsthand what's happening. But the Biden administration is refusing to allow press to join us," Cruz continued.

"They won't allow reporters in and, Glenn, their justification is laughable on its face. They say, the reason why they won't allow reporters in is because reporters might have COVID. So one cameraman, a cameraman, and they say, 'No, too big of a COVID risk. We can't let the guy with the camera in.' It's because they want to hide the absolute disaster," he added. "You want to talk about COVID-19? Glenn, I'll give you a stunning statistic. Of the illegal immigrants that are being released in Arlington, Texas, they are testing positive for COVID-19 at a rate seven times higher than the U.S. population."
