Sheila Jackson Lee unleashed one of the dumber if not the dumbest attacks on the GOP this week when she claimed that Republicans don't want to do any work, want to help 'no one', and of course want to take away 'love & charity' from society just for the pure satisfaction of beating Obama. She couldn't think of one time in history when a President has been criticized this much. Glenn helps refresh Lee's memory on radio today.
"Get ready with some moist towelettes and your step away from everyone else. Blood will shoot out of your eyes," Glenn warned.
Lee said:
“The mantra of the Republican party is: Do no work, help no one, take away the highest essence of all religious faith, love and charity. They have a single purpose which is to defeat the president who happens to be named Barack Obama. This is the most historical period in our lifetime and I believe it will be tainted, it will be shameful period.”
She added:
As I have scanned the annals of history, during the tenure of many presidents, obviously the recent presidents of JFK and Lyndon Baines Johnson, of Richard Nixon who was impeached, and subsequently Ford and Carter. I cannot find in the statement of a message of a minority leader, majority leader, or speaker, whose message has been defeat the commander-in-chief.
"Couldn't find anybody saying anybody bad about a President except this one? And why? Because of the color of his skin?" Pat said with disbelief.
"We didn't scan the annals of history. We went to Google," Glenn said.
And what did they find? How about President Obama attacking President Bush for...pretty much everything?
"All Democrats talked about and concentrated on defeating George W. Bush," Glenn said
Here's Obama calling him "unpatriotic":
Even Sheila Jackson Lee called for President Bush to be impeached! You can watch that below:
And here's more from that hearing:
Yes, that was a guy who basically called Bush a murderer while trying to sell his book.
Here's Pelosi calling Bush and Iraq a failure
And here's Pelosi engaging in fear mongering over healthcare:
Obviously, there's a lot more we could include, but you get the picture.
