It's a simple question: Are you better off now than you were four years ago? Glenn used Detroit as an example, explaining that crime has skyrockted - and that's a city the administration was trying to save! Now it's best image come across in car commercials featuring Eminem and Charleston Heston.
"It is a crime what happened to Detroit. It's a crime. And who's responsible for what happened to Detroit? Labor unions and the progressive left. You want to talk about, you want to know what the policy, you want to know what America's going to look like four years from now? Look at Detroit. We're gutting this country from the inside, and is anybody really talking about that? Is anybody really talking about solutions?" Glenn said on radio this morning.
Other cities, like New York, aren't doing much better. Glenn said that he was driving out to Brooklyn to give a speech and saw the new basketball stadium under construction and wondered why they would spend the money on a project like that for a crappy team and burdening the neighborhood with traffic.
"When you've got a crappy team with tickets you can't sell already, you add traffic and inconvenience, now how much would you pay for those tickets? And they're going to put this in the city, and do you feel comfortable walking the streets where that stadium was?" he said.
Glenn noted that the cost of getting to work for commuters in New York has also gone up dramatically. Gas prices, MTA tickets, and tolls have all jumped higher in just a few years.
"How much does it cost just to go in to work? And it's not just New York. Toll roads are happening now all over the country. For roads that have already been paid for. You know what they're using ‑‑ this really pisses me off. You know what they are using that money for? They are not supposed to use it for it, but they are using it for the Freedom Tower."
"This whole country is upside down. It doesn't even make sense anymore," Glenn said.
