A big story last week among media insiders was the "FOX News Mole", a disgruntled employee at FOX News who promised to feed the gossip website Gawker.com with all kinds of juicy information that was promised to be damning to the media empire. Well, it turns out that the mole had little to offer, mainly pictures of bathroom stalls, and he was quickly sniffed out by FOX executives and fired. The mole, Joe Muto, then took to the airwaves to give his story - and he explained to CNN that he was forced to stay at FOX because no other cable news organization would hire him.
"I tried to leave many, many times. I sent out dozens and dozens of resumes. I think CNN must have gotten 20 resumes from me. And the truth of the matter is I was blackballed within the industry that people, hiring managers see Fox News on your resume and they say, "This guy's a conservative. This guy's a nut. We don't want him in our organization.'" he told CNN.
"He's saying there's a blacklist," Glenn said.
"CNN, MSNBC, all these other news agencies don't hire conservatives because they have an agenda. Period. I mean, we've said it, you know, we've showed you the examples. But here's a guy who obviously hates Fox News saying it right out in the open: Blackballed because they thought he was a conservative even though he's not," Pat added.
