Occupy has big plans on May 1st all across the country, or “opening day,” as Glenn called it this morning.
On May 1st there are plans to commemorate the L.A. riots after the Rodney King acquittals, the Golden Gate Bridge Coalition is organizing to shut down all modes of transportation, and big plans are being made by New York’s Occupy movement. There is also organizing going on in Chicago and Wisconsin for similar types of protests.
Glenn played audio this morning from Madison, Wisconsin of anarchists, socialists, communists, and union activists engaged in a counter protest of a tax day rally at the state capital. The audio revealed self-proclaimed communists and anarchists who are member of the Industrial Workers Union that attended the protest to help bring about a socialist revolution. The workers openly admitted to the reporter that their union was giving them the support they needed to do this.
Next, Glenn played a clip from Portland, Oregon of protesters who were denied re-entry to their favorite park. The protesters reacted with obscene and violent tirades about arming themselves, spreading diseases, and anti-police rhetoric.
He also played a clip from a VH1 special on the Rodney King anniversary, produced by Snoop Dogg, who is a follower of Louis Farrakhan. The special shows graphic beat downs on the streets, “it looks like something from a horror movie,” Stu said.
“The way everybody is so cavalier about it. They’re beating people, and pulling them out of the streets. It’s not good, it’s not good,” Glenn said. “That is what’s coming.”
