Nothing like a little propaganda on late night television - that’s exactly what America got when Obama stopped by Jimmy Fallon’s program to participate in his ‘slow jam’ the news bit. Only, there was nothing really that funny, just Obama giving a speech and the host making it appear cool.
Watch the video of the Fallon show below:
As promised, President Obama joined Jimmy Fallon at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Tuesday night — and he slow jammed the news. “I’m President Barack Obama,” he said, “and I, too, want to slow jam the news.”
“On July 1st of this year, the interest rate What we said is simple: Now is not the time to make school more expensive for our young people,” he told us.
Fallon then chimed in: “You should listen to the President. Or as I like to call him, the Preezy of the United Steezy. Things are heating up in Congress’ chambers behind all those closed doors.” The “Pell Grant is a beautiful thing,” but is it enough? “Aw Pell no,” Fallon declared.
“Some in Congress disagree,” Obama added in. Republicans’ position is that “students just have to make this rate increase work. Frankly, I don’t buy it.”
“Mmm, mmm, mmm. The Barack Ness Monster ain’t buyin’ it,” Fallon crooned. If they filibuster, “they’re gonna feel it, Buster.”
"This is amazing propaganda," Glenn said after playing audio of the clip.
"It's just a speech. This is just a freakin' unchallenged speech," Stu added.
Glenn added, "The Roots are the ones who are backing him up. The Roots are the ones that played at Jon Stewart's anti‑Restoring Honor rally and they were also the ones that took down Michele Bachmann."
Meanwhile, the RNC has come out touting the differences between Romney and Obama using the Fallon clip:
