Yesterday one of Glenn’s rare historical artifacts was literally washed away when an overzealous cleaning person tried to do the right thing. That ended up in a one-of-a-kind autographed bit of artwork being washed cleaned, signature and all. How could the staff possibly rectify the situation?
"In case you don't know, I won in an auction from 1940 Orson Welles hand‑decorated this fishbowl and then signed it and then the cleaning woman came. I had it for, like, three hours. Cleaning woman came in, it was on my desk. It was a dirty fishbowl because nobody had cleaned it since 1940!"
"So she washed it and all the fish came off," Glenn explained. "It was a short‑lived love affair with the rare Orson Welles art."
Glenn said he spoke with the cleaning lady and assured her he was not mad and that he knew she was just trying to go the extra mile.
Meanwhile, the staff felt like they needed to do something special in order to make Glenn feel better.
"They brought in goldfish for me today," Glenn told the audience on radio this morning.
"See, now the fishbowl isn't worthless. You can put the fish in it." Stu joked.
They were also nice enough to make Glenn a very special t-shirt commemorating the event...
