Chris Matthews has never been shy to hide his praise for President Obama. He famously talked about the chill he gets up his leg anytime Obama speaks. He took it a step further this week when he said Obama has, not only never broken any laws, he’s never done anything wrong.
Here’s what Chris Matthews had to say:
“Everything he’s done is clean as a whistle. He’s never not only broken any law, he’s never done anything wrong. He’s the perfect father, the perfect husband, the perfect American. And all they do is trash the guy. And it’s impossible for me to believe they would have said the same thing about a Walter Mondale or a Jimmy Carter or a Bill Clinton. There’s an ethnic piece to this. It’s very hard to nail it down because they always cover it in ideology. But I’ve never heard anybody in this country call its opponent regularly anti-American or non-American.”

Glenn quickly cut Pat off as he begin to make snide comments about the ridiculousness of Matthews absurd statement. Not because he didn’t want to engage with something so incredibly ignorant, but obviously because the more Chris Matthews is allowed to speak for NBC on national television, the lower the price of 30 Rock gets every day.
“Shhh, Shhh, quiet, quiet, quiet – they’re just driving the price of 30 Rock down, okay. We’re going to buy it one day – as you know,” Glenn said. “Stu, any doubt in your mind that if we set our mind to it that we will buy 30 Rock eventually?”
“Absolutely,” Stu answered, “at a low discount price.”
“I don’t know who the real estate company is that manages 30 Rock, but put me on the list,” Glenn joked. “When they go out of business, call me.”
Stu had to take the conversation back to Chris Matthews comments to point out how incredibly inaccurate they were. He went on to point out that, despite Matthew’s claim that Obama is perfect, Obama himself admitted to breaking laws over and over again in his own book. He wrote about being a member of the “Choom Gang,” smoking pot, doing cocaine, etc.
“Isn’t cocaine abuse a terrorists?” Pat asked.
It is. Yet, the Obama surrogates act like it’s ludicrous to suggest President Obama ever did anything wrong in his past. The same surrogates who keep suggesting that Romney “could be a potential criminal.”
couldn’t everyone technically be a “potential criminal”?
“Their whole campaign seems to be based on the fact that Romney could have potentially done something wrong,” Stu said.
Glenn responded that this is how desperate the Obama campaign is. This is all they’ve got to run with because they have no record to run on. Imagine the arrogance you would have to have to be a self-admitted criminal, and try to win campaign points by running on someone else being “potential criminal.”
