This morning on radio, Robyn updated listeners on one of the top stories on TheBlaze.com, a pro Chick-fil-A flash mob that took place in St. Louis.
Watch the flash mob here:
Dana Loesch, who filled in for Glenn this morning, is from St. Louis and was familiar with the storing. She had been contacted by the organizer of flash mob via Twitter. She explained that the participants of the flash mob were all young, most likely teenagers, and cited the stark contrast the pro-Chick-fil-A activists had with a previous story of a Chick-fil-A protester who vandalized one of the restaurants. The protester, who ironically was protesting Chick-fil-'A's "hatred of diversity," spray painted "Tastes like hate" on the side of the restaurant.
Dana described the left's tactics with Chick-fil-A as "soft fascism," pointing out the irony of using intimidation tactics in the name of diversity against a business just because it has a different point of view.
"It's very unsettling hypocrisy."
Dana gave another example of this with a talking point from the left claiming that Chick-fil-A donated money to an organization that supports the killing of gays in Uganda. A claim that was debunked by a CBS report in 2010. "It's a complete and total lie. But again, it's something that is promoted by anti-Christian bigots looking for a reason to hate the faith," Dana said.
"It's about faith to them, it's about Christianity to them. To us, it's about free speech."
"I don't believe in targeting businesses because they don't march in lock step with my views," Dana said this morning.
She described that she was using a Macbook, had an Oreo cookie last week, and recently made a few purchases at Home Depot. She went on to say that should would rather deny her dollars to a business that didn't earn it because their product wasn't good or they did bad business.
Dana made sure to note that she absolutely supports good, conservative businesses, but that doesn't mean she boycotts everyone that doesn't have her point of view.
"That's the difference between us and them," she said. "They can't stand it if there is diverse thought. They want diversity in everything but thought. That's what this comes down to. And it's a sad day in the United States when you that."
