The government is in the midst of a partial shutdown, though the affects are not nearly as dire as the media would like you to believe. The Obamacare exchanges have opened, though not without a tremendous amount of glitches. On Tuesday's Glenn Beck Program, Glenn explained why the American people must take a step back and really take a look at what is going on around them. It is easy to see the massive dysfunction on Capitol Hill and believe there is no basis for comprise, but Glenn laid out 5 things that he believes could and should serve as a unifying factors:
- Get spending under control
- Get out of business
- Fed employees abide by the same rules as everyone else
- Get rid of non-constitutional agencies (i.e. Consumer Protection Agency)
- Stop all foreign wars (in which there is no imminent threat to the U.S.)
Glenn conceded that these 5 ideas may not be the end-all-be-all when it comes to unification, but these 5 simple concepts share a common theme: Mind your own business and make sure everyone plays by the same rules. There is nothing antagonizing about those principles, so it is up for the American people (not the politicians in Washington) to begin to build the bridges of unity and, in turn, begin to take back our country.
