In the hypocrisy of all hypocrisies, the National Mall was briefly opened today for a pro-amnesty rally that was granted permits to hold an event in the name of free speech. An NPS spokesperson said that while "employees are furloughed... free speech continues." The World War II vets are not permitted to visit the privately funded memorial erected in their honor, but an event glorifying illegal activity is permitted to go off without a hitch?
Organizers for the event, “Camino Americano: March for Immigration Reform,” set up a stage and equipment for the rally as the public was kept off the Mall. A spokesperson for the event told the Washington Examiner that the Park Service has granted them permission to utilize the site.
