Glenn has been talking about the implications of President Obama’s ever dwindling approval rating for a few weeks now. Real Clear Politics, which averages the data of several polling organizations, has the President’s approval rating at 41.9% and his disapproval at 53.1% for the period of October 25 through November 10. These numbers take an even greater meaning when you consider a story from the National Journal that argues there is a good chance President Obama’s approval rating will not bounce back.
“I want Stu to take you over a chart and explain a chart of the President's approval ratings here real quick,” Glenn said on radio this morning. “And then I'm going to tell you exactly what it means.”
“National Journal has a story out today talking about how presidents who aren't running for reelection, history shows, they don't rebound from losing approval rating,” Stu said. “So you drop in your approval rating, you can't come back unless you're running for reelection and that's what history has shown.”
The article Stu is referring to, “Why Obama Won’t Bounce Back,” explains that history shows presidents who aren't running for reelection don't recover from drops in their approval rating. If you take a look at the Real Clear Politics average of the last year of the President’s tenure, the trend isn’t pretty.

“Okay. Now let me explain what this means. First of all, that's an average… And if you look at that chart, it is a steep, steep decline,” Glenn said. “I told you before the election, you get rid of this guy now or you are going to see a long, national four-year nightmare because I think this guy could be impeached. I think he could be impeached on a lot of things.”
In the next 18 to 24 months, Glenn believes the President’s approval rating could fall to 20%. From the digitization of money to the unrest in the Middle East, the rise of the police state to a lack of jobs, Glenn explained just a few of the ever-growing problems facing this Administration. Add those factors to the failures of Obamacare and concerns over the size/scope of the NSA, and suddenly President Obama finds himself in a position that could very well end a presidency. So what happens next?
“So what happens? First of all, pray. I beg you to pray on your knees for the safety of this President. I beg you to pray for the Secret Service. I beg you to pray that everyone in Washington – Republican, Democrat, no matter who it is, that they are kept safe because there are crazy people out there. There are. And there are people filled with rage and hate,” Glenn said. “Please pray for safety on all leaders… no matter how you feel about them.”
“So now what are you going to do about it,” Glenn asked. “I would ask you that you become self-reliant. And what self-reliant means is you are not beholden to somebody for your education. You are not beholden to somebody for your physical, temporal, spiritual, educational wellbeing, that you are independent on all of those things. Can you do that? Are you that already? I challenge you to do that now. Those will be the ones that will lead the world tomorrow. And we can go a dark way or we can go a good way. I'm going a good way… The answers come from love and charity and being who Americans have always been. We will lead again.”
