On tonight’s Glenn Beck Program, Glenn will sit down with a true American hero, retired Army Captain Sam Brown, who suffered burns to over 30% of his body after his Humvee was struck by an IED during a mission in Kandahar, Afghanistan in September 2008. It has been a trying 5 years, but Sam is now married with two beautiful children and running for representative in Texas district 102.
Sam also joined Glenn on radio this morning, where he shared his remarkable story. Despite everything he has been through, Sam is immensely grateful for his life, and his outlook is inspiring.
“You know, the life lesson here is we don't necessarily see the adversity as it turns out to be. [As] I'm driving into a fight, little do I realize that I'm about to hit the roadside bomb that's going to alter the course of my life,” Sam said. “In the moment that we're entering into the fray, this bomb just rips through my Humvee. And unfortunately, it left Private Winston killed in action. And me and the other three troops in my vehicle were burned. As you can imagine, it was a life defining moment in more ways than one.”
