In honor of Glenn’s new book CONFORM: Exposing the Truth About Common Core and Public Education, TheBlaze Books put together a list of the “10 Common Core exercises that will make your hair fall out.” On radio this morning, Glenn found one of the exercises particularly amusing – if you can get past that fact that our children are actually being taught these things in school.
“There's a story up on TheBlaze today that will [make] blood will shoot out of your eyes, make your head pop, tear your hair out? It will make your head pop,” Glenn said. “Just understand, there's no indoctrination here at all.”
Pat proceeded to read through a worksheet that asked third grade students to “make each sentence one less word by replacing the underlined word with a possessive noun phrase.”

Below are the six sentences as they originally appeared:
1. The job of the president is not easy.
2. The people of a nation do not always agree.
3. The choices of the president affect everyone.
4. He makes sure the laws of the country are fair.
5. The commands of government officials must be obeyed by all.
6. The wants of the individual are less important than the well-being of the nation.
“Unbelievable. That's the collective. There it is, in written form, what's happening in your schools right now. This is beyond Common Core,” Glenn concluded. “That's why the book CONFORM is not just about Common Core. It is about the educational system on the whole. And there it is. On the front page of the Blaze today, ‘Ten Common Core exercises that will make your hair fall out.’ There's just one of them. There it is.”
