According to reports, some 300,000 people took to the streets of the New York City on Sunday for the “People’s Climate March.” The protesters were seeking to raise awareness and demand action ahead of the United Nations Climate Summit this week. On radio this morning, Glenn highlighted some of the people who attended the event.
“You know what I'm excited about? It's UN week up in New York. And I get to go to New York this week,” Glenn lamented. “The good thing is, you have all the socialists and the communists and the anarchists [in town] for the climate change thing. TheBlaze is one of the only places that showed the socialists.
Celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo joined New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio for the climate march that passed by TheBlaze’s Sixth Avenue offices. TheBlaze’s Oliver Darcy reported live from the event, and he shared some of what he found on social media and TheBlaze.com.
As Darcy reported, the protest was largely peaceful, though it appeared to be made up of “fringe elements of the political left.” Photos show protesters denouncing capitalism and the police.

Additionally, Darcy captured a video depicting an instance in which activists shouted “f**k the police.” Their condemnation was in relation to the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri last month.
“Did you see – we'll show them on TV tonight – the pictures of the mess they left behind,” Glenn asked. “I love this. They all went to get their coffees and stuff like that, and they all left Styrofoam cups and everything else out on the street. What are you doing? Climate change people, you should probably not use plastic.”
“Seems to show the hypocrisy, doesn't it,” Pat concluded. “They don't care. It's about communism and socialism. It is about social justice.”
