Some on the left were reveling in the fact that Dallas, a red state, was the first to be hit with the deadly Ebola virus. Well, what goes around comes around as Ebola has hit New York City after a doctor working in West Africa came home carrying the virus. Apparently the administration’s new screening procedures aren’t working that well. Glenn reacted on radio this morning.
"So a doctor in New York city is sick with Ebola. Who would have seen that coming besides, you know, every American except the president of the United States?" Glenn said. "Maybe people will care because now it is in New York."
An emergency room doctor who recently returned to the city after treating Ebola patients in West Africa has tested positive for the virus, becoming the first case in the city and the fourth in the nation.Mayor Bill de Blasio and Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday urged residents not to be alarmed by the doctor’s Ebola diagnosis. De Blasio said all city officials followed “clear and strong” protocols in their handling and treatment of Craig Spencer, a member of Doctors Without Borders.
"Honestly, I have had great peace on this Ebola thing. I'm angry. I'm angry because we are a nation on a suicide course. We are the loved ones of somebody who is going in and saying, I'm buying razor blades, and I'm buying sleeping pills. And now I'm drawing a warm bath. And we are saying somebody stop them, somebody stop them. No, they can't hear me, they can't see me for some reason. Somebody stop them. And nobody is stopping them. And we're watching our country, our fellow countrymen commit suicide. This isn't going to just affect the Conservatives. There's no win in this. This is going to affect all of us. This is going to affect all of our children. This is going to affect the entire world. This is not an American problem. The entire world will feel -- they always have said, when America sneezes, the rest of the world gets a cold. Well, what happens when America gets Ebola? What happens when America comes down with a very heavy fever? What does it do to the rest of the world? We have a great responsibility. But if we rest in the Lord, and we are our best selves, we are our highest selves, we get rid of our anger, even righteous as it may be, we will make it. But boy, are we gonna need each other and we're going to need Him as well," Glenn said.
