On Monday night, Glenn sat down with political consultant Mary Matalin for a discussion on the green couch. While sitting in the sunny backlot of the Mercury Studios, Matalin talked to Glenn about the election, what comes next on the road to 2016, and her optimism over America's future.
In the interview, Mary pinned a lot of her hopes for America's future with the young crop of leaders in Congress, specifically mentioning Ted Cruz, and the young people who are innovating in different industries all over the country.
"And then the ones that have slipped through, Ted Cruz and Rubio, you know, they’re changing it. That’s how this thing changes. You concern me, because, I mean, you inspire me every day with your essential messages—good is strong, good always wins, but bad is faster," Mary said. "But I don’t think we’re going to go the way of Rome or Persia. We just have…our collective DNA, we came together in a different way…and the young people, look around here. What is your average age here, 12? All these young creative people and all these beautiful people. They get it. This is a really impressive generation."
