Did she know him or didn’t she? In a recent press conference, Nancy Pelosi claimed she didn’t know the person in the video tape claiming he purposefully wrote Obamacare long and confusing so people wouldn’t know what was in it, thus making it harder to oppose the bill. Unfortunately for Nancy, it wasn’t all that long ago she was actually quoting the person she said she didn’t know.
In an interview, Pelosi said, "I don't know who [Gruber] is. He didn't help write our bill. And so, with all due respect to your question, you have a person who wasn't writing our bill commenting on what was going on when we were writing the bill."
And yet, in one of the videos Jonathan Gruber said, "You got to say you like small businesses in America or you're a communist. And so as tax payers -- small business is a very small part of the bill. I mean, I'm not opposed to them. But they're very tightly targeted. And what's nice about the way they're structured, I'm biased here, it's like the one bit of the bill I actually wrote."
The other weird part is Pelosi's claim that she doesn't know who Jonathan Gruber is. But at another point Pelosi said said, " I don't know if you have seen Jonathan Gruber's MIT analysis of what the comparison is...". So clearly, she knows who Gruber is despite her feigned ignorance.
Isn't it time we demand more honesty from the people elected to lead the country?
