Glenn may be terrible at timing, but he's very, very good at seeing what events are coming over the horizon. On radio today, he talked about the way any student of history could look at the news and see global conflict coming our way. But he doesn't want to focus on the problems, he wants to focus on the solutions and how to prepare. On radio this morning, he discussed the advice he is giving his own kids so they can prepare for what could be around the corner.
"I know nobody wants to think about this at Christmas so I'll get off this bandwagon, but I feel it's important for you to know, as we were, you know, driving home last night from the mall, doing some grocery shopping -- or, some Christmas shopping, I talked to my older kids. And my older kids said, so, dad, what do we do?"
"Well, you do a few things, and not in this order. Do you have food storage? Are you out of debt? Are you secure in your own person?" Glenn said. "Do you have cash on hand? Do you have something in case the dollar would collapse? I know everybody says that won't happen. I'm telling you now, it will happen. I don't know when, but it will happen. You cannot run this kind of debt, and then you cannot print this kind of money and expect to get away with it for very long. It doesn't work."
"But most importantly, may I suggest you take seriously this season," he said. "I think because we have lost faith in religion. We have lost faith in these institutions where we go and we gather and we listen. You know, you take out your hymnbook and you have to say this prayer at this time. You have to confess. Then you have to do these things. Jump through these hoops. You have some imperfect guy telling you how to live your life. I think people are done with that. They see through that and realize it's about power and money the building a lot of times. They actually want to change their life. They know something exists. They are on a search for it. They are on a pilgrimage to find what is real. What is it they believe in? May I suggest that you start your own pilgrimage? May I suggest you get serious about your God? Because we're going to need him, each of us."
