It’s hard to believe that anyone could watch American Sniper and come away disliking our military, but that appears to be what’s happening. In the wake of it’s success, scores of liberal blogs are popping up questioning the veracity of the film. The haters aren’t even trying to look like sane, rational human beings anymore.
"So Chris Kyle movie, "American Sniper", still number one at the box office. What has it made so far? $200 million," Glenn said on radio this morning.
"People love this movie. It's really resonating and it's driving the left out of their minds," Pat said.
"I think it's not the American soldier that's driving them nuts. It's the fact that Americans are now going to 'American Sniper' and they are seeing it and they are seeing the animals, and I use that word -- in full recognition of how much trouble that word will cause, but there's no other way to describe. There's full recognition now of the American people, if you go see that movie, of the animals and the degenerates that we were going in and fighting against. And by the way, if you see -- [Chris Kyle's] not going in there just to save American soldiers. He's going in there, he's trying to stop -- a good portion of this movie is all about him going to try to stop the butcher of Baghdad, a guy who was using a drill to the heads of [Iraqi] children," Glenn said.
Glenn said that the left is especially upset because the movie exposes their own hypocrisy. Every anti-war leftist has pushed the narrative that the War on Terror is a big misunderstanding, the people in the Middle East just have a different culture.
"This is why the left is so crazy about this movie, because it shows all of the nonsense that they have been saying," Glenn said.
When Bill Maher discussed the movie on his HBO show, several of his guests jumped on the anti-'American Sniper' bandwagon.
"There’s a lot of anger in this country, and the people who go see this movie are people who are very angry. This guy basically says, ‘I’m going to fight on your side.'" Howard Dean said. "I bet you if you looked at the cross-section of the tea party and people who see this movie there’s a lot of intersection."
"I want you to listen carefully to me, America. Listen carefully. Whose families are being decimated by this never-ending war? Is it the Harvard elites? Is it the media elites? Is it the politicians? Whose families are being decimated? Is the gang culture? Is it a culture of those in Hollywood? The families that are being ripped apart right now with this never-ending war are the Tea Party people. It is the middle of the country. It is the NRA member. It is the person that believes in generally common sense constitutional ideas," Glenn said.
"We're going to see this movie because we have a friends and loved ones that are in the military who have fought and are currently suffering."
