On radio this morning, Glenn raved about this brother/sister musical duo. Why?
"So this morning, a friend sends a story to me, which I just absolutely love, sends a clip of a YouTube video, of this kid, Nathan Leach, and his sister, Eva. And they are sitting in their kitchen like regular people, just in their kitchen, and he's got a guitar. She's probably 14 maybe, maybe he's 16. I'm not really sure, but they are sitting in the Leach family kitchen, and they sing a song," Glenn said. "If you watch this video, it's so raw, it's so natural, and mom just set up the camera and she's like go ahead, sing it," Glenn said.
In the video, Nathan and Eva sing a cover of "Hero" by Family of the Year. So far the viral sensation has well over 2 million views on YouTube.
Watch it below:
"These kids are amazing, just sitting in their shorts in the kitchen, singing this song. He's got a whole YouTube page, where he's just posting his music like this. All of his videos have about 10,000 views each. I think personally, this is what to me is so exciting about the future. You can go in and you can post something that is just on your heart, just like this is a song, and it's me. You sit there in your kitchen, sing it with your sister and you post it. You don't have any expectations. You are just posting something you have done. Before you know it, you have 2 million views online. Before you know it, what was on your heart is now on other people's lips. You don't know how it is going to happen. You don't know."
While ten or fifteen years ago this kind of exposure wouldn't be possible for the average person, YouTube and the internet is quickly becoming the way to get discovered.
"The freedom that we have now, to be able to create and to chart our own course is astounding, if we take advantage of it," Glenn said.
