Late last week, Free Beacon reported that the Muslim Brotherhood has now called for "a long, uncompromising jihad" on the Egyptian government.
"It is incumbent upon everyone to be aware that we are in the process of a new phase, where we summon what is latent in our strength, where we recall the meanings of jihad and prepare ourselves, our wives, our sons, our daughters, and whoever marched on our path to a long, uncompromising jihad, and during this stage we ask for martyrdom," the statement reads.
Patrick Poole, a terrorism expert and contributor to TheBlaze's 'For The Record', said they Muslim Brotherhood could not be more clear in their plans.
"[The statement] concludes saying that the Brotherhood has entered a new stage, warns of a long jihad ahead, and to prepare for martyrdom," he said. "Not sure how much more clear they could be."
The call came just a few days after key members and allies of the Muslim Brotherhood met with The State Department in Washington. The Free Beacon explained that two Muslim Brotherhood leaders were joined by by a deputy assistant secretary for democracy, human rights, and labor and "other State Department officials".
On Monday, an Egyptian court sentenced 183 Muslim Brotherhood supporters to death. The sentencing comes as the Egyptian government cracks down on radical Islam in their borders.
Glenn has been warning about the Muslim Brotherhood for years. In the video below, you can see some of the earliest warning he issued four years ago and the cavalier attitude many leaders in the U.S. government took as the Islamist group rose to power in Egypt. It also focuses on this most recent call to jihad and the State Department's response.
