The New York Daily News called 47 GOP senators "traitors" for daring to disrupt the talks between Iran and the Obama administration. Were Democrats called traitors for calling Bush a "terrorist" when he was in office? Once again, the media has set the American people down the path of misdirection.
Regardless of President Obama’s fecklessness in negotiating a nuclear deal with Iran, 47 Republican U.S. senators engaged in treachery by sending a letter to the mullahs aimed at cutting the legs out from under America’s commander-in-chief.
We join GOP signatories in opposing the pact as outlined, but we strenuously condemn their betrayal of the U.S. constitutional system.
The participants represented the bulk of the Republicans’ 54-member senatorial majority, vesting their petulant, condescending stunt with the coloration of an institutional foreign policy statement.
"Look at what we're doing. We're talking about the Republicans instead. And this is why this is a liberal magazine. And this is what they do. They have made us start talking about the other hand. Why are we talking about the Republicans? We should be talking about what we both agree on. This was insane to negotiate with Iran. This is insanity?" Glenn said.
"Everyone is just pretending that we're not getting into bed with the terror state of Iran."
