Well, that certainly didn’t take long. Before Ted Cruz even announced his candidacy for President, people were already planning to derail his campaign with baseless distractions. Cruz critics are claiming that he’s ineligible to run because he’s not a natural born citizen. Yes, the birthers are back. Well, it didn’t work for Barack Obama and it certainly won’t work for Ted Cruz. Glenn laid out why the new birthers are wrong on radio Monday morning.
Ted Cruz was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canda. His father, a popular figure in conservative circles, is a Cuban-born immigrant to the United States and his mother is a U.S. citizen.
"One of his parents is American. That's all it takes. For the love of heaven, if illegal aliens can come to the America and give birth, and that birth child is a citizen, then so is Ted Cruz, for the love of heaven. Stop it!" Pat said.
The Immigration and Nationality Act states that a person is a citizen by birth if they are born to a parent with U.S. citizenship, CNN explained.
