Last week, Glenn, Pat, and Stu were discussing the water shortage in California. Despite all the changes the government is making to help “save the water,” the fact of the matter is that there continues to be a drought in the state of California. This could have something to do with the massive amounts of water it takes to produce one almond as we learned in the Wonderful World of Stu, but why would we expect government to be practical?
Instead, according to CBS Los Angeles, water authorities are using a new tool to crack down on people and businesses. What is this great, new tool? Why, a smart meter of course! The smart meter collects data and sends it to the database, allowing government officials to monitor a business or homeowner’s water consumption.
