Glenn was at the iHeartRadio Country Music Festival over the weekend, and he got the chance to spend a few minutes with Tim McGraw. The country star faced a lot of criticism over his involvement with a pro-gun control fundraiser, and many fans on social media were eager to hear what Glenn had to say to him. Glenn revealed what he said to McGraw on radio Monday - and it’s something everyone needs to hear.
"I met Tim McGraw over the weekend," Glenn said. " lot of things swirling around Tim McGraw. A lot of people really don't like Tim McGraw right now."
McGraw drew criticism last year when he performed at a benefit for the Sandy Hook Promise foundation, an organization that promotes stricter gun control legislation.
"Everybody on the Twitter feed [wrote] I hope you told him off!" Glenn said.
"I said something that will probably piss everybody off," Glenn revealed. "'I admire your courage. Keep saying exactly what you believe.'"
"That is what we should be encouraging people to do," he continued. "Keep saying exactly what you believe. Your ticket sales are going to suffer, but keep saying exactly what you believe. That's the American way. That's the American thing to do. You may lose some friends. You may not be popular. This may be the last time I see you in concert. I'm not really sure. But keep saying exactly what you believe."
