Our presidential poll results came out this week for the month of May. I'll post the full results at the bottom, but here are a few observations:
The grades have generally become more negative since we started this poll. In fact, of the 30+ candidates we've listed as possibilities, only 4 have increased their score since the beginning: Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and Carly Fiorina. Fiorina has actually had the largest rise, but she also started from a considerably lower score than the others.
On the other side, those with the biggest drops since the beginning are Chris Christie, Jeb Bush, Jon Kasich, and Kelly Ayotte--with Ayotte being the biggest. I credit that to my description of her as the female John McCain, which is about her policies, but may just lead to really disturbing visuals.
Ben Carson rebounded a little bit after falling for several months, though he's still significantly below his best numbers.
Ted Cruz remains the only A grade in the entire field. Scott Walker was an A early on, but he's fallen to a B+, and has been passed by Rand Paul for #2 overall. Paul has risen from #5 in our first poll, up to #2.
Glenn Beck asked for Judge Napolitano to be included this month, to see how he would do. Pretty well, it turns out. He finished #7 overall.
Starting next month, we will start to weed through some of the candidates and shrink the field of people we don't think are actually going to run. So, coming soon, your homework will be a little lighter.
Here are the full results.
