Senator Bernie Sanders was already well on his way to placing second in the Democratic primary, behind presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton, but could he have already derailed his campaign? A bizarre essay he penned when he was 30-years-old has resurfaced, and it's probably the weirdest thing you'll ever read.
Titled "Man-and-Woman" the short essay includes graphic sentences about male and female rape fantasies. "A woman enjoys intercourse with her man -- as she fantasizes about being raped by 3 men simultaneously," it reads.
Written in a stream-of-consciousness style with incomplete sentences and partial dialogue, the short seems to present a couple struggling with ideas of gender roles, sexuality, and female submissiveness.
Yeah, he's done.
The Sanders campaign has called it a poor attempt at dark satire.
"His campaign explanation of that is ludicrous. And, again, if this is a Republican, you know, if Ted Cruz wrote something in 1972, can you -- well, he was a little young then. In 1982, if Ted Cruz wrote something that was freaky like this and perverted like this," Pat said.
"People who scream about the War on Women all the time, where is the women's rights groups on this? Have you seen anything from them?" he added.
