This morning on radio, Glenn discussed a video from 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon' video that Tania had sent him. In the video, Jimmy Fallon and U2 dress in disguise and go down into the subways of New York to perform.
“They don’t look anything like—they look like a bunch of washed up losers. But it’s Bono singing," Glenn described.
When they originally start playing you see people walking by them not paying attention, but once they reveal who they are everyone is going crazy in the audience.
This clip sparked a discussion amongst Glenn, Pat, and Stu as to the shake-up of late night shows. When Leno, Letterman, and Carson held these late night television shows, the focus was on interviews. Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel have completely changed the format of late night with their focus on viral segments.
What do you think? Is late night television changing? Have Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel paved the way for a new generation?
