The media often paints Walmart as the most evil of evil corporations, but they’re clearly trying to improve things for their employees. Higher starting wages, more comfortable temperatures, and a looser dress code are all part of a plan to shake things up at the stores - but it doesn’t end there. How is Celine Dion involved?
The Washington Post reported that Walmart is stepping up its efforts to retain talented employees, and announced several changes to workers at the their shareholders meeting on Wednesday.
One of the most well-received changes involved ditching a CD that includes music from Celine Dion and Justin Bieber. In its place will be "Walmart Radio", a playlist curated by an actual DJ.
The store also now allows jeans and raised the minimum wage to $10 an hour.
"They have decided, to help the workers enjoy their Walmart time and their experience a little bit more to get them to stay working longer and consider a career, they as a company have announced that they are going to reduce the number of times Celine Dion is played in the stores," Glenn said. "I am not kidding you."
"They had the same complaint at Guantanamo, didn't they?" Stu joked.
