NBC announced Monday that they would be ending their relationship with Donald Trump over "derogatory statements" regarding illegal immigrants. Glenn doesn't agree on with Trump on much, but sees this as the latest person to get blacklisted for not agreeing with the liberal point of view. Has political correctness grown to the point that we are now banning thoughts?
You can find the story HERE and read Glenn's response below:
And the black list grows.
I do not agree with Trump but can we stop firing people for what they say?
This is out of control. It is not just PC words but it is thoughts now.
At UC Berkley you can not say: "I think the person most qualified should get the job". Among other things.
This is the banning of THOUGHTS. Books are next and people are shortly behind that.
We are all Americans and we are all going to say stupid stuff and hear others say stupid stuff.
I am offended by the people who claim to be offended. Tell them to read the constitution and the concept of free speech and free political speech.
We are better than this. We are better than Trumps words and better than firing him for them.
Brian Williams makes stuff up and NBC is okay with him. We don't have to agree with what people say. But we need to be able to hear what people say and make our own personal judgement.
First they came for my words and I said nothing because I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
Then they came for my doctor and I said nothing because they told me I could keep it.
Then they came for the media and whistle blowers but I didn't say anything because I didn't like the media and I wasn't a whistle blower.
Then they came for college "thoughts" but I wasn't in college.
Then they came for my right of conscience but I didn't say anything because I wasn't really religious.
You know how this ends right?
Join together. It is time to link arms and march.
