Just another reminder of the often unseen good police officers do in our communities.
Officer David Taylor found and comforted a lost child at the International Rice Festival in small-town Crowley, Louisiana this past weekend.
He initially held the boy on his shoulders so the child could look for his parents, but soon he was tired and Officer Taylor took him down to sleep in his arms.
"I think it's awesome because we hear so much negative things about our police officers today so I'm happy to say that I've seen something that's a positive image," Carolyn Senegal, a Crowley resident, told KFLY News 10. "That's an officer going above and beyond the call of duty."
"At the end of the day, I only did what all my colleagues were doing," Officer Taylor said. "It's just that this one was caught on camera."
Officer Taylor later took the child to the police station, where he sat on the stairs outside with the boy and shared a brownie while they waited for family to arrive. Watch the video via KATC here.
