As the year grinds to a close, the approaching holidays bring the opportunity to reflect timeless traditions and what they mean. With the recent release of his new Christmas novel, The Immortal Nicholas, Glenn began pondering Christmas a little earlier than most, thinking ahead to how we might achieve our New Year's resolutions.
The trick has to do with what Glenn called the "trilogy of holidays."
"The reason we always fail on New Year's Eve and our New Year's resolution is because we haven't put all three holidays together - Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year," Glenn said.
Thanksgiving is meant to be more than football and more than food, he explained. When we're truly grateful, we are humble.
"When we're down on our knees, that's when we can actually view the Christ-child as He was in the manger," Glenn said. "He was sent here for a fresh start, to start all over again."
That's when our New Year's resolutions actually work. Watch the video and share your comments below.
