I just watched the ABC report regarding the escape from ISIS on 20/20.
Thank you Elizabeth Vargas and the team for not twisting it into something that it wasn't.
It was good to see the faces of those who need help, the peril and fear they deal with everyday.
It was a good reflection of what we all felt and what, not only the Iraqi Christians are going through, but also what my team experienced.
I was greatly disappointed that Johnnie Moore, who I believe is a modern day Bonhoeffer, was marginalized. He is the tireless voice in America and full partner with Father Douglas.
The two people ABC featured were hired to do this job by Johnnie.
He will be embarrassed by me mentioning this but it is true. He is a hero of mine.
The other thing that really was quite disappointing and heartbreaking was the treatment of you! Those who sent in their hard earned money to free the Christians, rent the plane, pay for the language classes and pay the salary of Joseph and his wife who looked like the real heroes.
Nothing. Not a word about you.
It was the only condition I asked ABC for.
Instead they gave me the credit for thirty seconds.
Please let me apologize to you. We did our best to try to get them to tell the part of the story about you doing bake sales and sending in wedding rings etc but networks do what they do.
I was also horrified that they would suggest you help through the U.N. The stories I will tell you when I get back after the holiday will melt your brain. The U.N. is the worst way to help.
For ABC to do a positive story on this in the first place was a Red Sea sized miracle as it is.
Thank you and if you want to help do more go to now.mercuryone.org.
