Lucky folks in a Georgia community are getting some special Christmas cheer from their local police department this year!
Sheriff's deputies in Monroe County are handing out $100 bills instead of traffic tickets to pedestrians, all in an effort to give back to their community.
Don't worry, the money isn't coming from the taxpayers; an anonymous donor contributed $5,400 for the project.
Sheriff J.C. Bittick said, "[The donor] felt like this was a good way to make everybody feel good about law enforcement and to give back to the community for Christmas".
The donor is right.
Rather than just handing out the money himself, he opted to have law enforcement do it and create a positive image of the police for his community.
