Aaron and Melissa Klein, the Oregon bakers who owned Sweet Cakes, are no strangers to online haters.
After politely---and now famously---refusing to make a cake for a same-sex wedding, the Kleins were ordered to pay $135,000 in fines to the cakeless couple, causing them to lose their place of business. Most recently, the couple's bank account was seized by Oregon authorities a few weeks before Christmas.
On Twitter, Facebook and other social media channels, critics comment regularly on the Kleins’ story, calling them “bigots” and “homophobes” for abiding by their biblical belief that marriage is between a man and a woman. They are, in fact, kind and generous people.
Showing they still maintain their positive attitudes and senses of humor, the Kleins recently sat down for an on-camera interview with The Daily Signal to read several "mean tweets" and explain how they deal with the backlash.
