Monday on The Glenn Beck Program, several listeners called in for lively discussions about their support of Donald Trump. One of those calls featured long-time listener Carol, who talked logically about her reasons for supporting Trump.
"The main thing with me is that I feel like when Trump says something controversial, he can make it through the other side," Carol explained. "Cruz can't always."
When Glenn expressed feelings of frustration and failure about educating his audience on progressives, Carol offered reassuring words.
"No. Your efforts have not been in vain, okay. I understand it more," she said.
Carol elaborated that Trump's experience as a businessman rather than a politician could serve him well and, perhaps, give him more wiggle room on things he might say.
While Carol's argument obviously didn't sway Glenn's opinion on Trump as a presidential candidate, her approach struck a chord.
"This is the kind of conversation, quite honestly, I believe, where we can actually make progress with one another," Glenn said. "We can kind of come together and understand. We may leave and disagree with each other, but we can at least come together and understand one another."
