Wherever James Isaac goes, so goes his black labrador Mahe. The 9-year-old autistic boy relies on his furry companion to keep him safe and calm. While James doesn't speak and flinches from human touch and eye contact, he will happily curl up with Mahe --- even into the boy's hospital bed.
When James had to go to the hospital for an MRI to diagnose his seizures, the boy's mother worried about how the experience would go. She was relieved when Mahe was allowed to accompany James on the visit. Mahe never left his side.
