Broadcasting live from CPAC in Washington, D.C., Glenn invited Matt Schlapp, Chairman of the American Conservative Union (ACU), onto his radio program Thursday morning to discuss the mood of conservatives --- particularly around the nation's capitol.
"What's happening in this ZIP code is that they are in full-fledged panic," Schlapp said. "Now, 50 percent of them are in panic about Donald Trump, and 50 percent of them are in panic about Ted Cruz."
He went on to describe the one thing Trump and Cruz have in common --- they both make people nervous.
"If you look at the votes of all the people that are saying, 'I want to take a two-by-four to Washington, D.C.,' that is a big number " he said.
The interview was full of similar jaw-dropping statements from both Glenn and Schlapp. The fact is, the American people are on to the elites in Washington, D.C. They know they're being tricked and lied to --- and they're not going to take it anymore.
As the nation’s oldest and largest conservative grassroots organization, the ACU created CPAC as a project to leverage grassroots activists to break through the resistance of Washington's powerful elites. Under Schlapp's leadership, ACU and CPAC are going back to their conservative roots, steering away from the progressive policies embraced in the past.
Glenn will make the closing remarks at this year's CPAC. Watch it live here.
